U.S. Military Weapons Inscribed With Secret 'Jesus' Bible Codes

Pentagon Supplier for Rifle Sights Says It Has 'Always' Added New Testament References

Coded references to New Testament Bible passages about Jesus Christ are inscribed on high-powered rifle sights provided to the U.S. military by a Michigan company, an ABC News investigation has found.

Brian Ross looks at the biblical verses written on firearms.

The sights are used by U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan and in the training of Iraqi and Afghan soldiers. The maker of the sights, Trijicon, has a $660 million multi-year contract to provide up to 800,000 sights to the Marine Corps, and additional contracts to provide sights to the U.S. Army.

Old news already posted here when it was new news.

And they get paid with teh monies that say "in GOD we trust"

Outrage!!!!!!!!

Nah, if the scopes work and are reasonably priced I don't care if they are embossed with pentagrams or touched by His Noodly Appendage.

Thats probably how they get the contract.

Why would you wait 6 months to generate some outrage?

The government is not paying for the inscriptions

LEFT RAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly, if nobody had pointed that out I never would have noticed that a jumble of letters in the product code was actually a bible reference.

BWAHAHAHA what a joke. Who gives a fuck!?!?! The serial number system being based on bible story numbers is a story? Or even worse proselytizing!?!?!?!?!?! They got the contract because they make bad ass sights that work great for what they are being used for.

Talk about old news.

Then again they make weapons sights that are vastly superior compared to other sites in the industry.

Wow, I thought it was going to be some obvious in poor taste religious wacko stuff.

This doesn't really seem all that bad. Hell the quote from that verse seems somewhat relevant to their product.

Thank you dahunan, just when I think there is some limit to US stupidity, you send me back into a funk of total depression. Be it resolved, Einstein was correct, there is no limit to human stupidity. Whopee, the USA is number 1 again.

Surely you wouldnt want our troops to use inferior red-dots just because this company ties in a bible verse to their serial number...would you?

Sad to see so many liars in here

What if instead of a mosque being built near the World Trade/Terrorism Center it was actually a CHURCH .. would all the goons bitching about the mosque still be bitching about a religious institution going up there.. NOPE then quit lying about how you would have no reaction if they were muslim inscriptions

Who gives a shit, they make the best red-dots on the planet. They could make it a Hello-Kitty themed red dot.

Who gives a shit? Anyone who understands that we are in the Middle East Liberating people, not Crusading, and that it's vitally important that THEY understand that. Get it now?

Give us a break, they scopes don't break out into prayer, or hunt down muslims and kill them. Most people using them don't even realize that the serial number is a reference to anything, much less a bible verse. Morons.

You don't understand the symbolism of having Bible verses on our weapons? Or do you really think that symbolism has no meaning to the Muslim world?
Weinstein said coded biblical inscriptions play into the hands of those who call the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan "a Crusade."
http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/secret-bible-verses-guns-marines-concerned/story?id=9602030&page=3
Retired Army Major General William Nash, now an ABC News consultant, said he had "no problem" with organizations providing Bibles and other religious tracts to U.S. troops. "But I do have a problem," said Nash, "with military equipment being labeled in a way where it seems like it's our god against their god."

Nash, who commanded the first brigade of the third armored division during Desert Storm in Iraq, said the Pentagon should make Trijicon remove the Bible codes from their sights.

Said Nash, "They should fix them all, they should do a modification on those sights and take off those inscriptions. And if they fail to do that they should be penalized."

Oh right, I'm sure you rightwing religious fanatical idiots know better than the military. I guess you better start writing your angry letters because the inscriptions have been removed, for a reason http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/22/us/22guns.html

The Army said in a statement on Thursday afternoon that it “was unaware of these coded biblical references until several days ago.” The statement added, “It is not the policy of the Army or the Department of Defense to put religious references of any kind on its equipment.”

The Marine Corps also issued a statement saying that it did not know about the biblical references, adding, “We are making every effort to remove these markings from all of our scopes and will ensure that all future procurement of these scopes will not have these types of markings.”

This issue was dealt with by people who know better and actually fight the war and deal with the consequences of stupid shit like this, so you bible thumping chickenhawks need to stop arguing the pro-bible-verses-on-military-weapons side and recognize that you were fundamentally wrong.

Well, if 19 Christians flew into the WTC, then Yeah, I'd have a problem with a Christian church being built there.

What is it with the Left having just terrible analogies...???
