A5, good question, one that I would like to know as well.

Do you have to work for a computer orientated company?

You have to pay to get into the beta program I believe. WinMe sucks, I didn't use win98 until SE, I don't think I'll ever use Me, I'll go straight to Whistler. The Betas of Whistler floating around are just Win2k with a few additions.

zippy, check the newsgroups. There's certainly at least one full post of Winme OEM/Retail, and if you unpack it there should be a bootdisk. Unless you want to wait until tomorrow, I may have a copy.

Well I work for Gateway and am getting it for Free at the end of Augest so i just downloaded the Retail ISO and installed it. Technically im not warezing it ehehhee 🙂

I signed up FOR FREE to beta test WinME. Someone posted the address here back on the old forums. So, I sent in a quickie e-mail and forgot about it. Two months later, I got an e-mail and a CD in he mail.

Dude at my dads work is a Beta tester, thats how I got it. Also my dads work gets the MS Developers Kit (Every Product MS Makes).

Used to be part of the 95% but no more, wouldnt use it unless someone paid me a hefty amount of money to.
Amiga OTOH, Im planning to pick up a new one, thinking about a 1200(have a 600 now, but Elite II is a bit choppy to say the least).
Never liked SOTB too much though, but Body Blows, now thats one mean mofo of a game, way better than Street Fighter IMO 🙂

andrey, there's no more WinME beta testing anymore. they move on to the Windows Whistler, next version of Win 2000. i am telling you, Whister su*cks also. nothing good particually.
