How do I turn OFF my daytime running lamps?

pull the circuit breaker for the lights while your at the drive in. Maybe its connected to the radio so I don't know.

On my 96 Chevy Beretta if I pull on the parking brake at least one click THEN start the car the DRLs will not come on unless you take off the parking brake. It's a little known secret that may work on other GM cars. Try it out.

Daytime running lamps + drive-in movies = bad.

So, how do I turn them off? 1996 Olds Bravada. Thanks. 🙂

Use your E brake, works for pretty much any car with them.

I thought the daytime running lights didn't come on until you put the car in gear. Maybe it's different on your car than it is on mine. On mine, if the car is in park, the lights aren't on. They don't come on until I put the car in drive or reverse. I have no idea how to turn them off though.

if the e-brake thing doesnt work, you might be able to locate the fuse (probably inside the car) for the DRL and pull it out temporarily.

On my Grand Am, if I put on the parking brake they turn off. Might be that I have to have the brake on when I start the car, not sure. But I had this same problem so as I'm at the movie I had to grab the owners manual and read through it until I found the solution

Oh for fsck's sake, would you just read that thread I posted?

It's full of different ways to disable DLRs in GMs like yours temporarily or permanently.

Why don't you just shut off the car and take out the keys when at the drive-in?

Sometimes you drive in while the movie or previews have already started.
