exactly, why the crap would your car be on anyways? And who the crap still goes to drive in movies!?!?

Maybe, because the movie sound is transmitted through your FM radio.

for my car, when i retrofitted some hids, i put a little piece of electircal tape over the pin in the control switch that activates the DRLs. Been off for a year with no problems yet.

I've never seen a car that had to be on for the radio to work.

would you want to NOT run your car with the radio on for the 2 hrs it takes for a movie? I dunno about your sound system but mine couldn't take being on for that long and still be able to leave the theater at the end...

How much does it cost to go to a drive-in movie?

that doesn't explain why the key would be in the 'run' position. if it's in accessory then it won't turn on the DRL's. and if it's a GM the DRL's shouldn't even come on unless it's in gear.

Thanks for all the replies. I did read the thread, Amused, thanks. The solution though was to put the ebrake on first and then start the vehicle. My DRL's come on as soon as I start the vehicle, NOT when I put it in gear. They're on whether I'm in park or drive.

And just as an FYI, we have 2 drive-ins around here, it's $5 I think for 2 movies, and the sound comes thru my FM radio, so that's why I need the car on and the lights off. If I just left the radio on for the length of 2 movies, I would not be able to start the car to get home, obviously.

Oh and Pavel- I thought you disappeared man! to ya!
