Step (1) Drink 2-5 hard alcohol drinks (girlie or otherwise... no malt beverages).
Step (2) You can't taste as well anymore... drink away. :D

I don't like beer much at all but can stand Sam Adams, Corona, Killian's Irish Red, and Newcastle.

You just have to drink it. Try a few to find the one you can stand the most.

Or just pretend to like it like everyone else. :p

I've heard practice makes perfect...

...and that's why I don't practice.

Why would you drink something you don't like? Doesn't make much sense to me.

Ditto, if you don't like it, don't drink it. Try not to worry so much about what other people think of you.

Exactly... And after two or three, you won't notice anyway. MGD is good for this purpose.

OK, the way to learn to drink beer is.....
drink beer. End of story. After a couple of cases, you'll know if you're trainable or not.
I didn't care for it when I was younger, then eventually become somewhat of a consiour.
Things seem to go in phases, don't care what the brand is it's cheap and I'm too young, Ok this beer thing isn't too bad I'm starting to know what I like, get that crap away from me I know a good beer when I smell it, and finally don't care what the brand is it's cheap and I'm old.

Well...at the begining of the summer I was drinkin a couple 40's a night...or at least 1 hg800...anyways...my friends could pound a steel reserve in 2 minutes(we timed it) and no matter how hard I tried I it would take me like 15 minutes to drink one. I can drink beer fine, and I can chug out of a cup, but out of a non widemouth I always got a friggin gag reflex..and I can't burp it out as well. Some people just can't drink beer well though and I'm one of them. When we did the century club the first time I puked at 75 shots of beer. The next time I made the full 100. I wasn't really drunk either time, its just that my stomach couldn't handle that much carbonation and that much liquid in that short an amount of time...its all about bein able to burp out the gas...

My thoughts exactly.

I never could stand the taste of the stuff.

Instead of a beer belly go for an ice cream belly instead, it's much more satisfying.:D

semi-expert here....they all taste somewhat different, after you've been drinking beer for a few years. I like to drink the same beer all the time. Bud is king where I live, but I cannot stand it. Gives me headaches all the time. Michelob (same company) on the other hand, is heaven to me. Problem is only half the bars I frequent have it. So I settled on Bud Lite, available everywhere..not too bad

Used to go for Schlitz, Falstaff, a few others. One thing I really avoid is the stuff on tap. The quality there is really inconsistant...never know what you'll get. I always drink bottled beer, no cans, no tap stuff. Taste is better and it's usually colder.

Why drink it?

YUCK

I never have liked beer. People told me "If you don't like beer now, when you get in the Marines you will!"

Well I got OUT of the USMC in 75, and I still don't like beer. (Well except VERY dark micro brews once in a great while)

chinese take-out and pizza are classic matches for a frosty cold beer.

Heffe-Weise has been suggested.. it's very good with lemon.

Bass is a great Ale tyr it out of the tap.

Corona is the poor man's good beer.. it's really good... especially with lime and a lot of people like to sprinkle some salt in...

Don't fall for it when people tell you, "you have to drink Guiness.. it's sooooo good..." Don't get me wrong Guiness is one of the finest but it's not for a beginner.. it's far too dark..

Oh yeah for the burping try a pilsner they're very good too...

I've got to agree with a few of the other posts, if you don't like it, why the hell would you want to drink it? I hate beer myself, never understood the appeal. Now mixed drinks and wine coolers, that's another story. :D
