some hippie-wierdo-beer connoisseur i work with suggests a beer call Black Dog Honey Raspberry Ale from Spanish Peaks Brewing, its made i n Montana and chicks dig it, and another style from Belgium called "lambic" thats real fruity and kinda tastes like wine, if you like wine or mooch a few samples at your nearest homebrew club meeting

Oh well. Beer is a crap drink for hicks. Go for the more refined drink for gentleman.

Ahahahahaha! That's like saying that all cars are crap and that BMW's are for some mullet sporting douche bag in a stained wife beater tee.

Refined is a matter of opinion. An oatmeal stout or a chocolate stout...both "beers"...are some of the most complex, and "refined" alchoholic drinks you can buy. If you want refinement, look twords a half and half or a black and tan.

Malt liquor is for poseurs that can't handle REAL alcoholic beverages and refined is another word for PUSSY! ;)

You don't, smart guy. You drink "premium malt beverages" and hard alcohol. Hell I've had two six packs of Bacardi Silver and three single Mike's Hard Lemonade within the past 24hrs and I'm not even drunk.

This kinda sucks. I turned 21 yesterday and the only thing I've found is that it's going to take sh!tloads of alcohol to get me drunk. Just as well, though. :) I don't trust myself drunk and don't want to get there unless I'm locked up in my room away from everybody as well. Oh well. :) Beer is a crap drink for hicks. You sir are the champion! And I'm a weakling :(. Last week I drank only 1 full bottle of dry red wine and couldn't help but vomit all my place. This kinda sucks... :(. Also, not long ago I drank 3 cans of beer and felt like crap. I didn't vomit this time, but felt rreeaally bad. Looks like I should give up on drinking.

Uh... not really. I'm not the champ, really. My roommate is incredible. Last time he got plastered, he took seventeen shots of Absolute vodka before he had a buzz. He ended up drinking an entire fifth of Tequila himself before passing out on the couch. :Q :Q :Q

Good God! There are some real lightweights on here! Bacardi? Smirnoff Ice? Hard Lemonade?

Stop pussying the nation and be a man and drink a beer.

As for me, I didn't start drinking alcohol until I was 21 for some reason. But when I did try it at first, it wasn't the best taste. As others have said, it's an acquired taste and for me, took a few more nights of drinking to acquire.

Now there's nothing better than getting together with old friends on Sundays and watching a football game with a nice cold Budweiser.

Try lighter tasting beers. I don't like beer either, but once in a while I get a taste for one. Try Coors Light. Killians Red has a unique taste to it that I like with steak, but it's pretty $$$$$.

I was thinking the same thing heheheh. My friends think I'm snobby though because I drink (and collect) wine, and my favorite drink is Absolut Citron and tonic. Drink what you like. Sherry is also good, but it's an aquired taste.

Well, you could try what my roomate in college did... i was drinking beer all the time, and he wanted in on the action but hated the taste. SO, we came up with this great idea to mix the beer with Dr. Pepper

Started out w/ half and half for around a week of drinking, then went to 3/4 beer 1/4 Dr. Pepper for a week or so, and after that he was drinking beer and enjoying it.

<---- enjoying a Classic Nut Brown Ale from Okanagan Spring Brewery right now.

Like someone else said, drink your beer COLD...much better that way. And I'm surprised no one has mentioned the smooth Irish cream ale Killkenny. That is some special beer. Basically, most of the macro brew beers sucks, try out some micro brews and find a flavor you like....Molson Canadian is about the worst beer I've ever had, but Labatt's Blue ain't nearly as bad.

Also like someone else said, I also picked up my taste for beer while I was in Europe...I think it was a Lowenbrau that changed my taste buds towards beer... must be something about those German beers.

'Molson Canadian is about the worst beer I've ever had, but Labatt's Blue ain't nearly as bad.'

A sin you have committed! Molson Canadien is one of the finer cheapies. It's crisp, yet salty and a tad bitter. Quite an accomplisment for a $8.99 12-pack beer. Heineken charges $13 for this.

In line with this post: acquiring a taste for beer is like trying to acquire a taste for green vegetables; you have to find the hidden flavor within because you understand the food is really good for you....
