How do i switch to agp 4x?

My computer supports agp 4x and i need to know how to set it to that now that i have a card that supports that, thanks.

There should be an option in your BIOS to select AGP mode.

There may be other driver settings. What kind of board is it? Is it a via chipset?

Make sure you install them in turbo mode.

In my experience, at least, AGP 4X mode would not work if you installed in normal mode.

When you say "my computer" do you mean your video card or your motherboard?

I don't know what kind of motherboard you have but if it does
support 4x agp, the setting should be in the BIOS as stated by jfunk.
Check the manual or go to the manufacturers website.
If it's not in the settings, just whisper to yourself 10 times very slowly,
"I'm in 4x agp mode, I'm in 4x agp mode..." 😀

Good Luck!!

I can already know what they'll say: "yes, your warrenty has ran out, oh we can help you with this issue for 39.95" stupid compaq, never ever am i gonna get a prebuilt pc again.

Try posting this question in the video forum. There are plenty of vid experts (geeks)
who might be able to help you. Compaq is a strange animal. Sorry I couldn't help.🙁
