It's on the voter registration form. You must register to vote. However, what party you select on the registration form doesn't mean jack. You can vote for whoever you want.

Is this an east coast thing that you would have to register for the whole party in order to vote for a single candidate?

I have a similar question. I spent like ten minutes looking at web sites the other day, but the state govt. and state party web sites are equally useless. How do I change my party affiliation? Live in PA.

Because voting straight party is foolish. Vote for the person and their views, not for a party's ideologies.

P.S. - See first line of sig.

Unfortunately for Dr. Paul, he'll get railroaded in the primary because he's too honest and refuses to parrot his party's (in name only, they hate him) line.

Well, no, not always. If you have closed primaries you only get to vote for candidates of your party.

Go down to your local government office and ask where the voter registration is located.

yep. thats why I declared myself even though I always vote libertarian. That way at least I have some say in which candidate winds up in the running.

I need to vote for Ron Paul.

Same way you'd register to be a democrat...

Wrong! They only remove part of your brain instead of the whole thing if you register Republican.

What most people do not realize is that by registering with a particular party, you get to vote ion the party primaries for that party and select the candidates for the real election. you can, of course, vote for any party in the election proper.

How do you go about doing this? I want to vote for Paul but I'm not registered for either party.
