It really doesn't matter what party affiliations you have, you can still vote for whoever you want.

In some states it determines which primary you can vote in.

Go to your local library, they should have voter registration forms. You can also speak with your county board of registrars (or some variant) and they should be able to help you with anything you need.

Just register as an independent. Party affiliations are for weak minded followers.

you don't actually need to registered with a party to vote for someone.

However, i like your taste in candidates :D

Sigh... it's already been stated, but:

Yes, you do need to register to vote for a candidate in the primaries. If Ron Paul doesn't make it through the primaries, it will be difficult to vote for him in the general election.

I'd be voting for Ron Paul too, but its doubtful he'll win the primaries. Just like what is always the case, the 2 finalists that will result in the 1 person who gets to be the actual candidate have already been chosen on both sides. Your choices will be

Barack O'Boma
Hillary "Please GOD NO!!!" Clinton

John "Has become a pandering douche for the religious right" McCain
Rudy Gulliani

Those are your choices so you might as well get used to it now. I so wanted McCain in '00 to take down Bush, he was so honest and strait - telling Jerry Fallwell exactly what he thinks about the zealots of our country. Now he is pandering because he knows he has to in order to secure the religious radical's vote in order to win.

Mike Gravel is intrigueing as well, but Ron Paul is pretty much everything I would want - and chances are nobody will ever get to choose either one.

I'm still confused as to how a conservative Mormon Republican got voted in as the governor of the Peoples Democratic Republic of Taxaschusetts. It boggles the mind, like if Kucinich became the governor of Utah.

Are you serious? I'm like to subscribe to your newsletter. Seriously though, how do you change your registration then? I've always been independant - and after I change to republican, how do I go about voting for Ron Paul?

Suprisingly, Massachusetts has a lower % tax burden than most states ;)

And as to how he got elected, I don't know...But they've had 3 or so Republican Governors in a row before he was elected, so he probably just rode the wave.

Or he flip-flopped his way through his campaign on issues...His position on gays and abortion when running for Senate in 1994 and Gov. in 2002 are complete opposites of what they are today.

I would say I was surprised how many people do not know this, even after you and Allisolm posted it, not that anyone actually reads threads before posting anymore. Truth be told, I am not surprised at all.
