OK, a bunch of us have been planning a trip to Europe post-grad and don't know where to start. We're all guys, we all wanna do guy-things, and we envision lots of bars, clubs, drinking, merriment, etc. At the same time we wanna see cool sites like castles/cathedrals and some museums, etc. We have money but we would like to do things within a reasonable budget--we plan on spending a few nights in hostels when in the city and in small hotels when in travelling the countryside (rather than Eurorail we plan on renting a car.)
We've looked at a few airfare options and depending on which carrier we take, we'll be visiting Iceland/Ireland, England, Northern France, Amsterdam, Germany (World Cup in June), Prague, Switzerland, Milan, Monaco-French Riviera, then heading back to England to fly out. We plan on doing all this in a span of 3-4 weeks.
What travel resources should we use to get everything planned? Where do we get the best airfare to Europe? What about student discounts or booking through a travel agency (can we save money by doing this?) Where do we find advice on where to go and what to see and where to hang out (Rough Guide, Lonely Planet, or any travel forums on the Intarweb?)
Any advice is very much appreciated! Thanks!
