How do I get rid of Roaches in our home?

yeah, those roach traps work pretty well.. you just have to keep replacing them.. which is, of course, a much better alternative than having roaches

Catch a few of them and stick them in a blender.
Scatter the remains across the floor as an example to all other roaches.

Seriously, call an exterminator.

The baits work pretty well if you put enough of them out.

You also want to remove any stacks of old paper or cardboard boxes that you have around the house. Corrugated cardboard and brown paper grocery sacks are prime breeding ground for roaches.

I heard about this as well.
As far as roaches go you can have the cleanest home in the world and still have roaches. They are not attracted to filth but to moisture and rot. Once you have them it is almost impossible to get rid of without professional help. Traps only catch a few out side the walls. Its the millions living inside the walls and places you dont see that allows them to breed and multiply. Once you you start seeing them it is because where they are usually at is overcrowded and are spreading out.

Wiki Suggests a few things to combat them:
There are numerous parasites and predators of cockroaches, but few of them have proven to be highly effective for biological control. Wasps in the family Evaniidae are perhaps the most effective insect predators, as they attack the egg cases, and wasps in the family Ampulicidae are predators on adult and nymphal cockroaches (e.g., Ampulex compressa). The house centipede, however, is probably the most effective control agent of cockroaches, though most homeowners find the centipedes themselves objectionable. Preventative measures include keeping all food stored away in sealed containers, using garbage cans with a tight lid, frequent cleaning in the kitchen, and regular vacuuming. Any water leaks, such as dripping taps, should also be repaired. It is also helpful to seal off any entry points, such as holes around baseboards, in between kitchen cabinets, pipes, doors, and windows with some steel wool or copper mesh and some cement, putty or silicone caulk. Once a cockroach infestation occurs, chemical controls may help alleviate the problem. Bait stations, gels containing hydramethylnon, as well as boric acid powder, are toxic to cockroaches. Baits with egg killers are also quite effective at reducing the cockroach population. A simple homemade Vegas cockroach trap is reported to be successful. Additionally, pest control products containing deltamethrin are very effective.

My attic is filled with wasps so maybe thats why I have no roaches
Just annoying in the summer and spring when they get into the upstairs bedrooms though, kill about 5-15 daily during the warm months till winter hits.

But according to the link a few of these bad boys and your good to go
