How do I get our dog and cat to become friends?

First thing you need to do is teach the dog not to chase the cat... eventually the cat will no longer feel threaten and hopefully she'll be relaxed enough to stay in the same room with the dog.

I have a Golden and a orange tabby. At first the cat was really pissed off, but now he goes looking for trouble. He will sneak up behing her and give her a good swat and then run, as you can imagine the chase is on.

We didn't do anything special. We had him for about 2 years and she was a pup. They just learned to get along. Now they are best buds

That's nice. Our cat has always been crazy and shy, so I have little hope. Anyway, cat/dog friendships can go too far...I once saw a chihuahua screw a cat. :Q

I knew a guy who would get his cat stoned. When he sparked up, the cat came running and jumped into his lap. He cradled the cat and blew smoke in his face. His cat seemed to love it. After it was over the cat just sat in the middle of the floor, wasted.

Catnip is kinda like a drug for cats...I've read that its a kitty-hallucinogen. Getting your pets stoned is funny, but wrong.
