He's 4, and he plays a minimum of 4 hrs of CS per day. All he talks about is CS, Terrorists, Counter-Terrorists, and Gordon Freeman.

I've tried uninstalling Steam a couple hundred times but either my parents install it for him, or I do it to shut him up.

4 years old????? Thats what the ESRB is for, M=18 or older ;) (but don't let it get to ya, I'm 16 and play M games...duh!)

And let me guess, they let him play GTA too right? And then blame the company that made it cause "the parents LET THE KID play it"?!?!?!

How about you play with your little brother? And no, I don't mean build him another PC and have a LAN - I mean build a snowman, play catch, build LEGOs, read a book. Mind expanding stuff.

I agree that pwning no0bs is a valuable skill ... but the kid hardly needs to be playing CS at the age of four.

Though this is definitely the pot calling the kettle black, as I was coding at that age. :p

I think my brother, in 3 years might even own me. From the first time I let him play, he's never asked me for help unless the window closed, or the game got uninstalled.

He knows how to buy the guns, and uses the autobuy last weapon button (whatever you call it), knows the maps, knows how to plant bombs, knows how to run, .. yeah.. he'll own me.

1. No snow
2. He rarely wants to do something other than play CS. From the moment he wakes up, he just sits on his own PC and plays it. Parents take him outside almost everyday, but you know that wont kill the CS addiction.
3. BTW, he builds lego GUNS and he only reads books about SOLDIERS / POLICEMEN

Install Quake 4/Doom 3/FEAR, scare crap out of him, he'll never go back on that computer :p

1. Good, so that opens up all the fall/summer sports. Ride bikes, play catch. How old are you vs. him?
2. Help your parents out. Spend less time on the computer yourself; get him interested in other stuff.
3. Argh. Don't bother with trying to prohibit them - pass that along to the parents as well -outlawing them will just make him want them more, and hide them. Vicious circle, etc.

Just try to broaden the kid's interests a little. Call me old fashioned, but at four, you shouldn't be inside playing online FPSs - you should be out with your real life friends having fun. Even if he plays "Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists" instead of "Cowboys and Indians" ... :p
