If you slap somebody I don't think they have the right to "punch you in the chest" (though as I mentioned in the other thread if I'm hit I don't care if it's a woman, a dog, or an alien, I have a perfectly moral right to hit back), but at the same time
However, when I first slapped him, it was out of a) fear, and b) hope he would regain his senses.
this isn't movies and hitting somebody in a rage NEVER calms them down. Arguments are fights without the physical aspect. If you introduce it into the fight you can't be surprised when it's brought back onto you.

In regards to your police report things like this need to be filed immediately, if for no reason other than to document the physical damage.

I remember reading about this guy in the past. Holy fvck just don't spend time near him again! I said that a while ago, as did everybody else. Dezign, you seem like a sweet girl but holy sh*t just stop letting people walk all over you! If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck it's an asshole - so don't spend time with him!

it isn't about "a right" for him to punch her

the point is they both broke the law

she didn't seem to realize this

her statements above indicate she thinks it was ok to slap him, but him punching her is assult/abuse

they both broke the law based on the info posted by her in this thread, the law enforcement guy confirmed this about 30-40 posts back

Yeah, but you know how people always want to argue bullsh!t when it concerns the law and a member of ATOT. The law doesn't flex on issues such as this, but we already had the one guy stating that there was nothing wrong with a preemptive slap.

There is really no advice I could give that hasn't already been given. My post is one of support I guess. I'm glad you are not putting up with that type of behavior.

However, when you slapped him, you were out of line too.

Stay away from him in the future.

Hope everything works out for you Dezign. You seem like a nice person at heart.

That said - it's sort of irritating that in the real world after Dezign slapped this guy first, there's not a policeman in the country who would arrest her for doing so. If he had done the same in her place, they'd have slapped the cuffs on in an instant. Sort of bothersome on an intellectual level, but eh, what can you do.

I know plenty of officers that would have arrested her.

Oh. Really? Like the guy calls up and says to 911, "My girlfriend slapped me." I guess they'd probably be bound to come by and investigate the situation, but an actual arrest? It feels kind of farfetched to me, though I can't say I know many law enforcement officers.

Seriously. Have you not seen the 20 or so cops episodes where the lady is arrested instead of the guy? It happens quite frequently now a days. The police used to ignore domestic violence all together, but now the go after both parties. Gender is rarely an issue except to older cops.

Last time I was robbed at gunpoint 911 was busy and then they kept tranferring me to the wrong department.

I have not been a member of this forum very long but I have read several threads posted by dezign and looked at her Xanga page. I do not understand why you are continously talking about all the people that you meet, this guy that guy, met some guy from craiglist, met this dude here that dude there. I am not condoning what happened to you with this loser at all, however I think your constant need for attention/affection has come back to bite you in the a$$. Maybe you should just limit your social interactions with the closest of friends and stop whoring yourself out for attention to everyone you meet.

Yo D,
Sorry to hear about this. :( That is a horrible situation you went through, and i'm glad it's over, and that you are OK.

While you should not have slapped him, it gives him no right to punch you. No right at all. :|

I've called 911 in the past, and many timese they have been busy. I find it very disturbing that it could be busy like that. What if something really crazy is going on, and you can't get through??

In any case, you know how to contact me if you need to.

usually when you go to the hospital to be checked for broken ribs and internal damage they will call the police for you, who will then take a statment from you and file a report.

Common sense... you were assulted.

ATOT isn't the bloody place to ask where to file a report.
