My brother was looking at it and I started checking this page every day :)
_or_
in other words-
how did you start trying to get the best out of deals?

i remember Anandtech was on the news for posting some unreleased benchmarks about something. It was a big deal...but I don't remember exactly what it was. AMD or something?

A few years ago my friend showed me a link to AnandTech, I think it was something for an AMD processor review. I was interested in what AnandTech was, I had never seen a computer hardware review site like it before. I then visited the forums... I already knew what these were, but I hadn't visited many in the past, and this still remains the only one I frequent. I also visit AGN, 3drealms, and a few other ones even less often, but AnandTech is the main one, that I check before anything else. Any time I go online, I check AnandTech Forums and my email. :)

I came from Mycoupons actually, they were complaining how bad this place was. I followed a link over to Hot Deals, and just decided to take a look here. And the rest is history..... ;)

My husband would check the other forums and I decided to check it out one day. I looked at OT and have been here since.

Started out reading Tom's Hardware back in 1996, was looking for other similar sites, and stumbled here... this was even before the forums existed... :)

Way back when I was upgrading an old 486. I was looking up benchmarks on a Cyrix 6x86MX and Yahoo led me to "Anand's Hardware Tech Page". I managed to avoid the forums until late August of 2000 though, then I was sucked into the void and this has been my second home ever since.

The first time I saw anandtech was when anand did that AMD preview as well, however I didnt become a regular. That happened later when I followed a link to the hot deals forum from sharkyextreme

..sure you did, Locutus.
I came to this forum solely to see a real pic of you yet time and again you refuse.

I searched on metacrawler for hardware review or something few years ago..and this site came up. Actually, I don't really remember. I only used/visited the website most of the time, and then all of a sudden one day, I discovered they had a forum.

I was in the market for a new PC to upgrade from a 486. So I typed in computer hardware or something like that into a search engine, and after a few sites I stumbled onto this one. Anand was reviewing the Abit LX6 at the time. It was the first board with 100mhz FSB tho it had no freq. divider. I bought the LX6, 128 megs of RAM a PII266 and overclocked it to 75 mhz FSB, 83 or higher was no go. But I was happy with it. Ahh the memories.
