I live in Columbia 4 months out of the year because that's where my parents live. I live in Clemson the other 8 months out of the year because I go to school there.

long, long, LONG story. It involves over 10,000 miles of driving in an '86 chevy S-10, 6 weeks in florida, a substance abusing parent w/ an abusive boyfriend, a generous aunt, a college acceptance letter, and a bunch of other stuff.

Short version: my girlfriend was here.

I had been living with my parents, & a friend of mine from work needed a roommate (his brother moved out). He was telling me about the situation & how much unreliable his other possibility was being & I said if it was more permanent I might be interested - I didn't mean much by it, but once we started talking about it it seemed like a good idea.

In one week I had the idea, made my decision, & moved.

Five months later here I am.

I currently live in the town I was born in. I do plan, however, on getting the hell out of here. All I have to do is find a damn roommate and I'll be set...

I was drawn to South Bend, IN, by graduate school at Notre Dame. I'm in for the long haul folks... another 4 years here at the outside.

I'm originally from Wichita, KS, and I lived in Lawrence, KS for four years during undergrad. I've been in South Bend for almost a year now.

I didn't make it academically at a really nice University from tinkering with computers too much and not studying, so the one I'm at now was kinda the 'backup' school. It's ok, I'm going back to the nice one for my Masters next year. :) But the town? Yeah, for college. No other reason to live in this awful 15,000 population rural cow town. :(
