I have been pulling all nighters for gaming, studying and etc. and usually do two redbulls a night to help me stay awake.

Two measly redbulls and you are worried? What do you have the constitution of a small bird? Come on man. Man up!

Shit when I co-owned a food truck business and we pulled 14 hour days we probably had at least 6 red bulls each a day if not more. And that was nothing. Sheesh.

Well ok then heh heh. I just read about the streamer that died from the 24 hour charity marathon.

If you're worried, drink some water during the night. Dehydration would be the most likely thing to occur.

It's random how I read a thread on ATOT and then shortly after run into a relevant article. This just popped up in my FB feed - guy had like 4 energy drinks a day for weeks and his body shut down. I'm convinced he was doing other drugs but anyway, it's here

http://www.someecards.com/life/health/construction-worker-hepatitis-energy-drinks/

But there is no way 2 energy drinks a night should really fuck you up if have a relatively healthy lifestyle. That's my professional medical opinion!

I lived on them many days over a 6 month period, with intense usage for 3 weeks. Did ~82 hours straight to make a ribbon cutting on a huge (for me) project. In that last month some of my hair fell out, probably more from stress than the energy drinks, and I lost about 29 pounds.
Still alive though, hair grew back after about a year. Yay willpower!

From what I read, excessive energy drinks for an extensive period of time is very bad for your body parts such as heart, brain, and kidneys.

I tried a few of them such as Red Bull, Monster, and so on and I did not feel anything from them. Just a bunch of overpriced sugary drinks imo.

I would try to avoid consecutive all nighters, as it starts to get dangerous after a while. The energy drinks will keep you "feeling" awake but yet your body is shutting down, eventually you die of a heart attack or something. Happens a lot to power gamers who game for consecutive days in a row. They keep their bodies going with various things like energy drinks and possibly drugs but it's like trying to squeeze more out of a battery eventually it just ends.

Do you know anyone that personally died from this?

There are plenty of cases of it happening. Though they don't really specify the exact cause of deaths, I don't think it's actually "lack of sleep" but rather everything that goes with it in those cases, like not eating. Though it seems cardiac arrest is what eventually sets in, in some cases. Interestingly it seems to always be asians playing games lol.

Do you weigh 320 lbs and was the last time you ran more than 200 meters back in 8th grade? Could be dangerous.

There's little benefit to continuously using energy drinks. You quickly develop tolerance to the caffeine (in a matter of days) and developing other problems (particularly GI issues, lack of quality sleep, irritability, etc) is more the issue than it being particularly dangerous.

The people who die "because of energy drinks" usually had existing heart conditions (sometimes undiagnosed), go for days without sleep, take it on top of prescription drugs (often stimulants), and/or consume those energy drinks like they are soda or water (but without drinking water or staying hydrated). It's usually a combination of more than one of those factors.

2 energy drinks a day isn't a huge deal, especially if they are sugar-free and you don't consume coffee or other caffeinated beverages as well. But it's not a substitute for sleep (with caffeine's half-life, it will interfere with sleep if you have an energy drink within hours of when you are supposed to sleep), and if you aren't taking care of your nutrition it will contribute to poorer health overall.

I've consumed energy drinks for about 10 years. My advice is to not drink them if you don't need to. They aren't significantly worse than drinking soda or excessive large coffee drinks all day (which a lot of people do), but if you drink them all the time they don't energize you, they will keep you awake and you'll feel like crap without necessarily realizing the cause immediately. Plus, you can possibly get mild withdrawal symptoms like headaches for a few days when you stop.

I regularly drink teas (black, green, white, ginseng), coffee, and sometimes yerba mate. I don't drink energy drinks every day, and often I go weeks or a few months without them. For me it's only when I need to stay up during the day (I normally sleep during the day since I work the grave shift, so for me all nighter = all dayer) that I have more than one, and even then it's always sugar-free nowadays and increasingly rarer that I do.

So really if you don't "need" to drink energy drinks, don't. But if you want to and are aware of the downsides, it's very unlikely* to kill you or otherwise pose a significant health risk if you don't over consume them.

* Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor, nor am I giving you medical advice

yeah but did you end up sleeping those days? OP seems to not want to sleep. The lack of sleep is more concerning than the awful, toxic, ridiculous energy drinks that people consume these days.

Slept fine. I take sleeping pills for insomnia so that helped I'm sure.

I've probably had energy drink type stuff like 20 times in my entire life, except for those 2 years on the food truck when I drank Red Bull like it was the antidote.

We used to use coke and half a box of No-Doz, you'll be fine with two measly Red Bulls. That's what kindergarten kids use when they're cramming for a finger-painting exam.

I personally wouldn't be worried. Though if I was ...
To hedge against over-stimulation I'd counter the drinks with some melatonin and phosphatidyl-serine to balance your nervous system.
Trazadone would work to mitigate the aftereffects of caffeine, but that's prescription.

Maybe some alpha-lipoic acid too, to regulate your blood glucose.

Would using mouthwash immediately after drinking soda/energy drinks help prevent cavities?

I have a buddy that drinks about 6 monsters at work then comes home and crushes a 18 pack of beer every night. Hes been doing this everyday for over a year a half. I dunno how he does it I'd atleast have to have some vodka with the monsters to cure the hangover. Even then 1 monster makes me feel like crap. If you ask him he swears all the vitamins in the monsters are good for him and that we all know beer is good for you. I figure he could die any day.

Your body will eventually catch up to you. I once went almost 2 weeks without any sleep doing practically the same thing. Then ended up passing out so hardcore I slept for over 3 days without realizing it.

My cousin f*cked up his pancreas on those kinds of drinks. But he was drinking the kind with alcohol in them, I think it was called sparks or something like that. I was with him the opening night when he had to go to the ER. Not fun....
