How could C2D use more overall power than X2s?

check this article: http://www.silentpcreview.com/article694-page1.html seems to say C2D is using more energy than AMD stuff. I thought C2D uses less or is that m.b. for C2D using too much power.

They're comparing it to the EE X2s, not regular X2s.

EE X2s are rated down to 35W for the 3800+ model, and 65W for the higher clocked models. AFAIK all C2Ds (with the exception of the X6800) are rated at 65W.

How AMD/Intel rates their thermal output of their CPUs are all ballpark figures using different methods of measurement...Real-world testing is needed.
