brought my BMW 328 at 127k miles, now at 201k. Aside from a cracked hose on the radiator and the standard maintenance items, haven't had any issues with it.

I broke 100,000 miles a little bit ago (at 105000 now). My car seems to be fine so far. Considering it only broke down on me once but I was able to get it working and not needed to tow it. I've had my car for 8 years or so starting at 12,000 miles and do not regret it. It's a 2002 Dodge Neon :-D

I think I will make it to 160,000+ before I will get ride of it.

My car is just about to tick over to 200k, however to a big motor, I dont thinks thats much!

If one is up to date in their wear and tear items and replace ahead of time things that usually crap out after time (battery, belts, plugs, plug wires, water pump, alternators, starters, thermostat) and you shouldn't have to worry about your car die on you in the middle of the road.

Take care of your car and it will take care of you.

Also, I race my 1991 Miata, with a turbo charger, 165,500+ miles on the clock, on the original engine and transmission.

Just under 115,000km on a 2004 Aveo. I have no reservations in day to day use or small road trips. It's not quite comfortable enough for long road trips but the car has never failed me despite my negligence in taking care of it. I'm taking better care of it now, but there's a little spot of rust starting which sucks. Can't ask more of the car considering its price.

I would love my next car to be a Subaru, but I really don't want car payments again.

1991 ford escort .... around 80k transmission blew up, had it rebuilt. around 90k transmission blew up, rebuilt under warranty, 110k transmission blew up, warranty on the initial rebuild was gone, gave up, sold car for $50. Had lots of other issues (electrical problems, AC was dead, had been hit in a hit and run and was damaged)

1994 Grand Am ... around 100k, engine noises and electrical problems started, around 105K air conditioning died, traded it in around 110k miles.

1999 Chrysler 300M ... around 90k started to run into issues with starting. For several months delt with problem about once per week, replaced battery, starter, replaced starter again, something was slowly draining battery, eventually after 5 or 6 visits to the mechanic, they replaced the battery cable .... resolved the issue ... around 110k, rims were slowly leaking, and I was fed up with the previous issues and no longer trusted the car, so I sold it and got myself a Subaru

Now, I have only 60k miles on the car (bought 2 years ago with 25k on the clock.)
I'm hoping to have better luck...
