Actually, according to the FBI, black people are twice as likely to commit a hate crime than white people.

If you were in Africa, you could claim persecution for being white, but since you aren't...

thats prolly true, but there is no outcry from the white community. like that old fart that shotgunned the teen. if that teen was black, you know for sure NAACP would have been all over it. i mean you dont see the KKK in an outrage if a black fart shotgunned a white teen.

It's because you, and I, have the position of power and privilege in our society whether you admit to it or not.

Whenever someone in a position of superiority (due to circumstance, not inherently) commits an act it is dealt with much differently than without that position. When a minority is harmed by a majority it usually is taken as an affront to the entire group, intended or not. This is a universal principle not confined to the United States.

That is not a principle, merely a circumstance, and an unjustified one at that.

It depends on whether or not the crime appears to be motivated by racism...

It's because they can get away with it and can get paid for it. If white trash could do it they would. All races have those who take advantage of everything they can even though they know it's wrong. It's all about what is excepted in today's world.
