Contact lenses are very delicate, wrong type of contact lenses, or cleaning solutions could cause undue discomfort, i suggest you that Acuvue Oasys is one of the best contact lenses for users who have dry eyes.

Even after going through LASIK (so happy I finally got the courage to do so!) I still can't imagine having to put contacts on and off. *shudder*

Interestingly they say going through LASIK is safer for your eyes than putting contacts on/off every day. The eye drops were the real killer though, omg. Was so glad when I could stop using them, but at the same time I was also so excited that it was done. Being able to see without glasses is incredible when you've had to wear them for so long.

I also heard there was a recall on Acuvue Oasys contacts as certain contact solutions created a chemical reaction with a coating they put on it, generated acid which then caused the contacts to fuse to your eye balls.

if your eyes are dry put some solution on your fingers or do some eye drops first. you can rip your contacts if you're pulling them off a dry eye.

I've worn contacts for thirty years. You get used to touching your eyeballs.

This.

Have for 40 now myself, it's just easy these days.

Yeah, chili's are never a good plan, are a lot of necros, but wth I guess.

I have permanent dry eyes. I just fold the contact while it's on my eye to break the seal. Days like today when my allergies are on fire it hurts pretty bad but by morning my eyeball juice will work it's magic.

But once a month I do scratch my eyeball and have to wear glasses for a couple days.

dry eyes can be a killer, I have left dry eye and it kills to remove the lens from that eye, from extended use lens I started using daily wear so that I dont have to worry if lens gets destroyed in process.

Just wash your hands and rinse them properly before moving contacts. Eyes are tough organs when it comes to infection but they can get infected. Also, clean fingers and hands will keep the contact lens fluid where you keep the lenses in clean. And do not forget to refresh the cleaning fluid daily or at least every few days. For the container where contactlenses are stored is usually a biohazard when the lens fluid is not refreshed often. And clean fingers and hands do not burn when you touch your eyes.

I remember the first followup visit I had when I first got contacts and the doctor removing and placing them again on my eyes. And remarking to him how amazingly adept he was at it. I barely felt the lenses being touched. After a few months, I was able to do the same.

You should never actually touch your eye (or rarely, anyway). Just the tip of a finger to the lens should be enough to place it. Removing them, I use the tip of a finger to slide the lens down, then pinch the (soft) lens with my thumb.
