I have a desktop running Win XP Pro and a notebook running Win 2000 Pro. I have them networked so that I can easily exchange files between the two.
Is there a way that I can synchronize all the files in a certain directory, say "my documents" so that when I take the notebook for a weekend and work with it I can simply connect to the desktop and make it so the desktop contains the updated files?
I know I can simply transfer everything from the notebook to the desktop (or vice-versa) but there are quite a few files and many times only 10 or 20 scattered files need to be updated.
I also know that I can do a search by date. Problem with this is it is not automatic and I still need to fix/recreate subdirectories I may have changed.
I'm hoping there is a way for this to be accomplished.
I would really appreciate anyone willing to donate the time to help me out with this if it can be done!
Thanks
