read a book, and practice. thing is you have to start young because you have to train your fingers to do nimble activities.

I used to do magic... ala my name. Buy "Scarne on Card Tricks", it's the classic magician's card trick book. Have fun Also those trick decks are great, get a Svengali or a rising card deck. Those amaze people the most, although many people know the secrets now

Svengali's is a great one. Marked decks are cool too. I have a bunch of them back home.

The thing that sucks about showing tricks to your friends is they always try to foil it or mess you up. I have never seen an audience member try to mess up Copperfield or Blaine. But associates of mine will mess up the shuffle or check my pockets etc. Makes being an magician very difficult!
