I've been waiting for my security clearance for three years. I've had my TS for a year and a half but I'm waiting for my next level.

For state jobs, most of them have exams that you got to pass before you get on a list. There may be something similar for federal jobs.

look into it.

Over a year? You need to contact who ever is doing it as they found something, or think they did, they do not like and are deciding on what to do with you. That is what happens most of the time when it takes that long.

Is your spouse not a US Citizen or you ever had mental treatment? Those are 2 things that come up, besides the money issues.

:sneaky:

Spouse is a citizen. I'm crazier then bat shit but they know that already. :)

Marv and Marlin have excellent advice. Applying for a government job in some ways is different than applying for private sector jobs (ie. the stringent you MUST have the combination of education and/or relevant job experience and also specifying your qualifications).

There's any number of books on govt jobs, but one I used while I was applying was "Federal Resume Guidebook" by Kathryn Troutman.
