Its pretty much non-existent here. The big thing around here is meth and pills. They've been really cranking down hard on pills. You almost need to be dying of cancer to be able to get a prescription for any of the "good stuff" these days. When I had surgery on my knee, I couldn't even get a temporary supply of lortabs. They told me to take over the counter Ibprofen which didn't work. The doctor basically told me to #dealwithit. So yeah, they won't even give the better pain pills to post surgery patients temporarily anymore. My dad used to get lortabs for his chronic back pain (inoperable) and got his prescription dropped and they gave him 500mg naproxin to replace it which doesn't do anything for his back pain. So yeah, they've taken things to the absolute extreme in trying to curb the abuse of pain pills.

What kind of workplace is this? Are the rumors of Wall Street executive coke-fueled orgies true?

I used to work for Hawaiian Tropic, back in the days before Ron Rice sold it, it was not a "drug free workplace". I guess Ron, (known as a heavy-duty partyer) refused to drug test his employees to get the workers comp insurance discount that goes along with implementing a DFWP. My area was involved with weighing the raw materials that go into making batches, on Friday night it was common to have employees come by and use the gram scale to check their purchase. It was common to have 4-5 cars in the parking lot at lunchtime with pot smoke all over the place. When Energizer bought the Company they of course made it a DFWP.

It's a side effect of having state drug tracking databases to find the prescription painkiller addicts.

Now that it's significantly tougher for addicts to get away with doctor shopping and/or filling prescriptions at multiple pharmacies, they are trying to get their fix from heroin instead.

I live in North Wildwood. It's a resort island in New Jersey.

We have 50 themed motels. Many people who vacation here are from the Philadelphia area, and are Irish/Italian.

Why do you live in a resort town? Out of choice or because of work, if you don't mind me asking.
