How are islands connected to the Internet?

Yeah, or I think they might use microwave satellites. I am not really sure, this is a good quesiton. I know there is a transatlantic fiber cable that provides some of the "World WIde" internet.

They load the internet on zip disks and ship it out to all the islands in the world.

Thanks!

...but wouldn't Jaz disks be more efficient?

I thought it was USB drives, but I could be wrong. 😉

They run cables through the ocean. How do you think they communicated between Europe and the US before we went into space?

So they do run truck lines under the ocean then

Edit: *trunk lines

Yes. It is faster than using Satellite connections as those have a lot of latency since they are so far away.

I guess they could use microwave but wouldn't that be expensive power-wise?

Depends on the island, I think. The important ones, like Japan and the UK, obviously get fibre backbone. The small ones have either satellite or packet radio, methinks.

millions of miniature chinese peoples run back and forth with loads of data, sorta like an ant column
