I'll tell you one thing about these motherboards, the price is right! Anyone have any experience with them? Are they quality motherboards? I want to get one for a 3.4ghz P4 550. Any info is appreciated.

I've found them to be reliable and well worth the budget price that's normally associated with them. About as good as any other make out there. I thought their K8S8X was one of the better 754 motherboards out there for the AMD64 until they discontinued them.

ASRock is the "value" line of ASUS. So unless you've got something against ASUS, I don't see any reason not to go with the ASRock.

They are low end, but pretty reliable. Dont expect breakneck speeds or tons of flashy features

I'm currently running 2 of the K8S8X boards, they are great. If the rest of the line is as good as these then you will be pleased.

I've used them, and yes: price/quality ratio is perfect. And as its Asus just producing cheaper line, you cannot go wrong.
Haven't had any problems.

Many of the geek sites give them high marks and I've only seen one negative comment on them. Too soon for a solid consensus to form as they've only been on the market here for under a year. They do seem to be very high value. I'm seriously considering the one with the KT880 chipset for my next purchase (among the few KT880 mobos that power the CPU on 12V rail). If the Abit KW7 wasn't as close in price as it is, I probably would have already sprung - still dithering...

re the name. Asians generally don't do names well for the American market. And we don't for other contries either - GM tried to sell a car with the Nova name in some latin countries where Nova could mean "no go" ;) and there are lots of similar examples.
