There no nothing wrong with Kevin McCarthy. They just don't like him in Congress.

Tell me again, how many votes does Jeffries need?

Just sayin'
One needs a majority of the actual votes. If one votes present, that lowers the threshold. So safe to assume no GOP will vote him. So he’s stuck with 212. There’s current only 434 members (one seat vacant from death). That means if 11 GOP aren’t there or vote present, Jeffries will have the majority of the votes. So this is what I’m thing the never spineless one may try. Just leave the house floor in one of the rounds. Make it very close to scare the spineless one to actually drop out.

Why would McCarthy drop out?
He's a Repub. Individual power > party > country

From another thread:
Interesting suicide squeeze play if McCarthy does it.

If he brings a motion to the floor about plurality of votes instead of Majority to be Speaker and gets 218+ to say yes, then the Freedumb Carcass either has to vote for McCarthy or a Dem will be speaker.

Round 3 had McCarthy with 202 votes and the Dem candidate for speaker at 212.

Please McCarthy, do it!

As you said, it's a suicide squeeze play. They force the spineless ones hand. Get the vote 212-202-10 with 10 not voting. They basically threatened him. We will all leave the house floor unless you withdraw your name.

While funny, it sounds like this wasn't actually Santo's fault according to that thread. Supposedly the House CAO issued this press release for all freshman members.
wait.. if none of the newbies are sworn in yet, then there's a path to Santos being removed before he's sworn in (if the House takes 30+ days to decide on speaker)?

Dude with the eye patch implied something similar. Heard it on the radio.
Something to the effect:
Democrats snuck a bunch of representatives into their party and now Democrats are laughing at Republicans.

Republicans are so simple minded it is all about who is laughing at whom.

You can float the most ridiculous joke and conservatives will spread that as some kind of truth. Do they get their information from The Onion?

Good, all those turds can’t be trusted and they appeared to be incapable of even throwing out an olive branch. Even if they did their reputations are they’ll never honor any agreement. Fuck him and all of them.

Prediction, if this goes past tomorrow we will have a former President Trump as the speaker and it will be a shot show of epic proportions.
Prediction: we will not.
