the J6C has released some of Hannity's texts to various whitehouse parties

I wonder if Biden and his staff get texts directly from cable TV personalities with CNN, MSNBC, etc. And the right is always saying Biden is a puppet. Is that projection or what.

Hannity had a direct phone number for trump, something even Eric trump didn’t have at the time.

It is always projection. If a Republican accuses someone of something you can be sure it is because they are doing it themselves.

Another feature the Repubs are notorious for is when the Dems point an accusing finger at them and state a fact about their habit of lying through their teeth the Repubs will come right back with another lie to refute it.

Oh and leave us not forget how the Repubs will with certainty falsely accuse the Dems of the exact same thing the Dems truthfully accused them of. They're having to plagiarize the Dems' comments about them because there isn't much in the way of the honest truth when it comes time to criticize Biden and the Dems about their policies.

The list goes on, all due to their desire to seat Trump on a throne, salute and hail him as their savior and role model to emulate as closely as possible.

Still not gonna get my hopes up until after verdicts have been passed and appeals have worked their way through, etc.
I wouldn't have any hopes until he's charged. We already went through 3 years of "the walls are closing in", "the beginning of the end", and the ever popular "smoking gun".

Yep. Just an unarmed bunch of tourists showed up.

Oath Keeper returned to Capitol on Jan. 7 for “recon” as group plotted weeks of battle: prosecutors | Salon.com

Ed Vallejo, a 63-year-old Arizona man who was one of 11 Oath Keepers charged last week with seditious conspiracy and other crimes for their alleged efforts to use a campaign of violence to prevent President Biden from taking office, messaged his alleged co-conspirators after the Jan. 6 riot was dispersed to declare "we'll be back at 6 am to do it again," according to prosecutors. He returned to the Capitol on Jan. 7 and told others he was "waiting for orders from [Oath Keeper founder] Stewart Rhodes," who was also indicted last week.

"We are going to probe their defense line right now 6 am they should let us in. We'll see," Vallejo said in a Signal message to other members, according to the court filing.

Vallejo's team continued to reach out to Rhodes for "next steps" after the riot as other members "continued to make plans to stop the presidential power transfer, amass additional weaponry and tactical gear, and prepare themselves to deploy their arms, if necessary, to stop the inauguration of a new president," prosecutors said.

Bwahaha. SCOTUS rejected taking up appeal to block release WH library documents

edit They are talking about it live in TV. 1 page opinion and was 8-1. Thomas the only dissenter and didn’t even write why he objected.

Not sure what this will accomplish....

Supreme Court Allows Jan. 6 Committee to Get Trump Documents

time.com.ico
Time|6 minutes ago
In a rebuff to former President Donald Trump, the Supreme Court is allowing the release of presidential documents sought by the congressional committee investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection. The justices on Wednesday rejected a bid by Trump to withhold the documents from the committee until the issue is finally resolved by the courts.

Read the last part of that .... 'until finally resolved' .....

Means this ruling might only be temporary and full release could be blocked again.

Beer Barrel sez:

“Without sufficient assurances of continuing confidentiality, Presidents and their advisers would be chilled from engaging in the full and frank deliberations upon which effective discharge of the President’s duties depends,” Kavanaugh wrote.

However, he goes on to say this power is not absolute.

“To be clear, to say that a former President can invoke the privilege for Presidential communications that occurred during his Presidency does not mean that the privilege is absolute or cannot be overcome,” Kavanaugh wrote.

I don't support that kind of confidentiality.

let's assume things worked according to kavanaugh's thoughts - who would make the independent determination that EP was not valid, or that the needs of congress outweighed the privilege the president desires? SCOTUS?

Exactly. That would in fact weaken the current's President's powers to control the Executive branch.

I would love to hear a coherent explanation where people who believe in the unitary executive can argue that previous presidents can constrain the current.

I think you need to go re-read that article and understand what they are saying there in that sentence. All they are doing is explaining what Trump and his lawyers where trying to do. Today's ruling resolved the issue they where banking on to delay and drag out the fight, meaning the "until finally resolved by the courts" no longer exist because that delay tactic was eliminated today by the SCOTUS because it was resolved by the highest court in the land.

Right ...

This ruling is a particularly fine bit of Schadenfreude. The US Supreme Court tells him that he is not a king. Even the Trump-appointed SCOTUS judges ruled according to law, not with who put them into their positions. Tumps Mafia way of doing things. The ruling was nearly unanimous, the only dissent coming, not from any of Trump’s nominees, but from Clarence Thomas, a man so deluded and incompetent that he’s unfit to be judging hogs at a county fair.

I’m surprised there are so few documents at stake (around 700). I'm assuming the bulk of them disappeared in a phishing incident. More bad planning (or lack of any kind): they can’t even say the dog ate them. Although! ... Sure they can! Obviously by MAGAtroid logic - the papers actually incriminate Hunter Biden, so Sleepy Joe fed them to Champ (who actually died from a bowel blockage caused by the documents).
