BTW - Is there anyone left who still thinks Trump is in anyway fit to hold office??

Sounds like we have enough mini smoking guns

But, but, Biden is a robot. We need trump in 2024.

My neighbor is already wearing his bright red "Make America Great" hat.

Watching rules committee on CNN for the Mark Meadows contempt of congress vote.. More than one Dem congressperson mentioned the word treason in regards to Mark Meadows, and those around him.
Meanwhile the usual crickets chirping over a Fox world.

When the public hearings starts all those Fox hosts need to be subpoenaed and asked about their texts. Also ask them about their concern at that time vs public stance of

"nothing to see here" and "it was Antifa"

Been watching it too. Bottom line is that the Repubs are clearly on the wrong side of history in their defense of Donald Trump's efforts to subvert our electoral system in order to illegally remain in power. The more they defend his treacherous behavior the more they condemn themselves to a very dark and disgraceful place in the history of our nation.

How ironic and absurd it is that while Trump and his followers falsely claim his election was stolen from him, they are all attempting to accomplish a major heist of their own, that they feel in some distorted way that it's justifiable to do exactly what they accuse their opponents of.

I'm not buying any of this new fox or don jr bullshit. It feels like a pre-baked alibi to be able to present when convenient.
Exactly, Hannity used to talk to trump nightly after his show so he had his number as well as Jr Mint. This was all planned.

Meh, I don't think the texts are some big conspiracy. Have you people never had trouble getting ahold of someone in an emergency?

"Shit, I called Mary but it went straight to voicemail!"
"I think Sarah is with her, why don't you try her?"
*TEXT* Sarah, you gotta have Mary call me back! *TEXT*
"Shit, Sarah's not responding either!"
"Well, keep trying both of them until one of them responds!"

Then those same phone records would also show they tried to contact trump.

That doesn't make a lot of sense to me unless you think those Fox hosts were active in planning the insurrection and needs an alibi, which seems unlikely. These text make it obvious that they went on the air the night of 1/6 and lied about the insurrection, which doesn't make them look great.

I don't think this is some smoking gun for Trump, but it definitely adds to the evidence for potential future obstruction charges against him.

Remember how some conservative poster on this forum was concerned about journalist ethics when he was coaching his governor brother through a political crisis and helping to shape the narrative with his position at CNN.

All crickets right now when it was people at Fox News doing the coaching and lying.

I'm starting to believe their previously expressed views about journalistic ethics were not genuine!

Not necessarily needing an alibi, more like protecting their journalistic ‘integrity ‘. In the case of Jr and Hannity I’m not convinced they are innocent.

Don Jr's decision making and overall "I LOVE IT" approach to own the libs makes that text totally out of character. There's years of precedent there that just make me say "I don't believe you".

"These texts prove something essential," Amanda Carpenter wrote for The Bulwark. "No matter what they say now, Trump's loyalists knew at the time that what was happening at the Capitol was not a peaceful protest. They knew that it was a dangerous attack on American democracy. And they knew that Trump was responsible for it. That's why they sent the texts pleading with him, through his staff, to make it stop."

meanwhile on fox 'news' - crickets

also DC AG pressing charges against 'proud boys' and 'oath keepers'

Laura Ingraham’s text is more like I’m being hurt by this...none seem to express concern for the people, only how it looks.

I bet the house republicans are sure feeling sorry about now for going after Hillary on Benghazi as they did. And considering that Hillary showed up. And testified. For democrats in the house, its payback time. However, Benghazi was a nothing and Hillary did not order terrorist to attack Americans. Gee republicans, I bet you're wondering that if maybe you were not so hell bent on Hillary then maybe democrats would not be so hell bent on exposing Trump's insurrection? How does that old song go.... IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME.

They don't feel sorry & they don't care.

It’s a pity that Gym Jordan isn’t on the select committee. Would have been great to repeat last nights hearing as Cheney read out the texts to Meadows. And oh, this one was yours and she looks directly at the traitor.
