I wanted Preet Bahara, but I can't remember exactly why now.Garland the do nothing AG surely wont take action on Bannon. Bets?
Garland was a let down from the moment his name was floated.

I miss that he's not in prison.
Preet while still an institutionist, wouldn't cross some lines. But he does look like someone that would hold a grudge and would definitely want to get revengeI wanted Preet Bahara, but I can't remember exactly why now.

I will take that bet. Bannon may try to delay with claims he’s seeking legal advice and such so it might not happen immediately but if he persists Garland will have him arrested, 100%.Garland the do nothing AG surely wont take action on Bannon. Bets?
What are the chances he delays into 2025?I will take that bet. Bannon may try to delay with claims he’s seeking legal advice and such so it might not happen immediately but if he persists Garland will have him arrested, 100%.
Let bygones be bygones. Garland will follow along Biden and see where the presidential library documents lead. Bannon will definitely be made an example of. But I don't see him going after Meadows or once it enters the immediate orange monkey orbit.Im genuinely confused as to why people think the DOJ would block enforcement of friendly congressional subpoenas in an investigation the president has clearly signaled is a priority for him.
So seriously, you're saying that the Democratic DOJ is going to defy Democrats in Congress issuing subpoenas in a case Biden has signaled is of major importance to him?Let bygones be bygones. Until 2025? Zero. What are the chances he delays into 2025?
Noted. We’ll seeI will take that bet. Bannon may try to delay with claims he’s seeking legal advice and such so it might not happen immediately but if he persists Garland will have him arrested, 100%.
Its history, dont think DOJ has a track record of pulling out the guns on mere subpoena violations. Add that to the Garland story we know so far and… well….Im genuinely confused as to why people think the DOJ would block enforcement of friendly congressional subpoenas in an investigation the president has clearly signaled is a priority for him.

In history we've never had an armed insurrection. We are setting precedents all over the place. No reason to stop now.Its history, dont think DOJ has a track record of pulling out the guns on mere subpoena violations. Add that to the Garland story we know so far and… well….
Garland has already taken steps to defend some Donny policies and issues. I don't see him aggressively pursuing a former President, no matter how dirty he is. DT should already be in jail and we all know it. The mere fact that he is still out there spewing his bile speaks volumes about Garland. So seriously, you're saying that the Democratic DOJ is going to defy Democrats in Congress issuing subpoenas in a case Biden has signaled is of major importance to him?
All true, lets see if that tips the scale. I dont see it.In history we've never had an armed insurrection. We are setting precedents all over the place. No reason to stop now.
He wouldn't be pursuing anyone though, Congress would. The DOJ just wouldn't be blocking them.Garland has already taken steps to defend some Donny policies and issues. Have you looked at what can happen wrt to Bannon? Bannon can delay this for a couple of years easily. Just in time for republicans to take back the House and end it all. Once again the republicans skate on accountability.
If Garland were to follow the Biden agenda here... would he stand a living daylights chance of ever getting on the SC? I could worry that a card in the deck is one of personal ambition -> so he dont want to be seen as rocking the boat?
That's ridiculous supposition & innuendo.
Some legal experts on CNN disagree, they say Bannon can take it to court and file appeals if he loses, effectively tying it up for an indefinite period.Nah. The full House will undobtedly vote for a criminal indictment on Tuesday & Bannon likely arrested & taken to court for arraignment & bond shortly thereafter. Trump suing the National Archives is an aside to that.

The only way this can happen is previous SCOTUS rulings are ignored, and the courts all of a sudden believe citizen's have executive privilege's. Bannon's reasoning for ignoring the Subpoena is because Trump, a citizen who hold's no office, told him too. Trump has no more authority than you or me, telling Bannon to ignore the Subpoena, and Trump has no more executive privilege's than any other citizen, as he is no longer in office. SCOTUS has already recognized Congress's power to issue Subpoena's, and that power is broad, all though not unlimited, as it cannot be used for political gain or to investigate someone to find out if that person (the person they subpoenaed) committed any wrong doing. A Congressional subpoena must potentially further some “legitimate legislative purpose,” per the SCOTUS. This subpoena is 100% for legitimate legislative purposes, the investigation into 1/6. If Bannon tries to take it to court, It will make it as far as Trump's 60+ voter fraud cases that where thrown out, and will be ruled on just as quickly. Bannon could also sit in jail, as Jhhnn stated, during this process. Some legal experts on CNN disagree, they say Bannon can take it to court and file appeals if he loses, effectively tying it up for an indefinite period.
