They're perfectly capable of doing so and while its easy to be cynical about their backbone, but I think it's possible they'll show one here.

The purpose of the commission won't be to figure out who was in the Captiol, we already have footage of that. What needs to be investigated is the state of the security at the Capitol and public officals that led to its degradation. The truth behind that is what the GOP fears.
