They aren't going to pass an amendment because it would never get close to enough votes. You can argue that the chances of such an amendment meeting success are small, but these people -- the MAGA-Trumpers and Trump entourage -- have made it clear they don't want the opposition to have an even chance anymore.
at my senior age with pre-existing conditions and disability and lack of financial resources, I still incline to consider the violent overthrow of any GOP statehouse or national government. Good for the Goose? (as it was on January 6) -- then Good for the Gander. "Apocalypse Now! Exterminate them all." [Quote taken from a Francis Ford Coppola movie']
I think we need to seize the government by legitimate or other means, and eliminate the Electoral College, pass some laws requiring responsible custodial attention to established agencies and programs (like them or not).
Another thing: consider eliminating the tax exemption of religious organizations altogether, or explore any means of enforcing certain requirements for revoking it. It's a gray area. Where do you draw the line?
Bishop Budde was right to preach about the moral issue, and she made Trump show his true nature the following day. But churches like the First Baptist Church of Dallas run by Robert Jeffress promote some pretty loopy ideas. As I said, the problem is to establish a clear line past which they cannot cross unless they're eager to pay taxes.
I've heard enough from the rank and file -- local and across the nation. These people are fundamentally ignorant, and probably not entirely aware of actions and inclinations of their leadership.
The Judiciary also needs reform, so people like Aileen Cannon are prevented from derail and delay.
If they are going to do it they will just do it and dare you to stop them. What the Constitution says is meaningless now, after all anyone who interprets it differently than the president can simply be (legally) killed.
