Yeah, we have a Taco Bell/ KFC joint here near the outlet mall. Speaking of....Had taco Bell tonight. LOL We have a Taco bell that isn't a KFC joint too. I think this town is full of banks, liqueur stores and Starbucks.

I've always wondered why KFC and Taco Bell do not collaborate to make a fried chicken burrito or something. They are already sharing space, let's get some cool food concoctions going!

Brampton is a good place to come from. It's a model city for poor planning and urban decay. My parents grew up there but left before all the scum from Jane & Finch infiltrated. Problem is my grandma still lives there and we can't get her to move.

I used to work at Queen & Kennedy across from Sonny's. Near where that little boy got shot and killed last summer. Thankfully it was only on a temporary basis when they were short staffed, or else I would have done my nut. I worked at a different store most of the time.
While some parts of Scarborough and Brampton show some similarities in roughness, it seems they're on opposite trajectories.

Scarborough was an old, old part of the greater Toronto area that saw some decline 40-50 years ago, and but then due to its proximity to the core has started to perk back up in the last 20 years, with some areas like the Scarborough Bluffs being quite upscale at least in some parts.

Brampton on the other hand was a relatively distant Toronto suburb and was OK for a while, then started on its decline in the last 25 years.

IOW, IMO, Scarborough is on its way up, and Brampton is on its way down.

Ironically, I've read that a lot of the low income influx in Brampton was actually from Scarborough. This is separate from the social housing you mention from Jane & Finch.

BTW, Brampton made the top 100 list for most dangerous cities in Canada.

In contrast, Scarborough is not on that list, and in fact has a lower than average crime rate as compared to the GTA overall. Yes, there are specific regions of Scarborough that are not good, but overall I suspect the nice and OK areas really bring the crime rate average down overall.

That would suck. I'd hate to be told I can't even go in what's left of my own house. Then again depending on how bad it is, I probably would not want to chance it anyway if it could collapse any time.

Sucks to lose everything like that though. Especially in Toronto where house prices are through the roof (no pun intended). I guess the good news is, it's probably still worth like 300k as is.
That lot alone is likely worth more than $300000.
