Sadly, when I went out camera shopping for her again to replace it, Kodak was still the only company that had gotten "easy to use" right but still had features like a good optical zoom etc. So I bit the bullet and bought a DX-7440 for about $275.

Much to my surprise, the camera was fantastic. I took it to hawaii with me and got some shots that were nothing less than stunning.

Anyway, the moral of my story - not all kodaks are bad, and I've seen firsthand that at least a couple of the newer ones are pretty decent. (Although I still hold a grudge against them for the last one I bought)

Ok this deal is now "dead." Price back up there to ~$3,399. The good thing is they seem to have found about it pretty quick, so the number of orders won't be quite so high, and they haven't cancelled my order yet so there is still hope for those of us who got in.

Must have just been a dud. My mom had a minolta before that was an absolute POS from day one. But I've had some myself that have been great.

First of all it's a price mistake, second of all their web site clearly says that if there is a price mistake then you WILL not get that price. By buying anything from them you agree to that. So you have no right to leave them a bad rating.

Anyways, it's up to the normal price, 3,299 which is still a good price for this camera.
