Hotter than Egypt today

and I installed a furnace and a/c today. I'm going to bed now. Thats enough for one day.

Toronto.

The real heat is supposed to start Saturday. Just in time for the Canada Day long weekend.

There are heat warnings being issued by Environment Canada. Supposed to feel like 44C for the next few days.

🙁

99 today in Minnesota with a heat index close to 105. I love Minnesota, you get the worst of winter and summer still sucks. I grew up in Missouri though, and the last summer I was there it was over a hundred seven days in a row.

Hey Mayne, can you come install an AC at my place? I have none, old-ass house. It's hot as hell right now.

I'm thinking of going with a mini-split system, though.

I can pay you in potatoes, beer, and weed.

It's been pretty hot here too but thankfully not as hot as down south where you are. I only witnessed +40 once and hope I never have to again.

Been in the +30's here which is bad enough. Or "evil" like one of my coworkers said yesterday lol. Right now it's 22 feels like 30. If it was not raining and wet I would probably be outside as it's not TOO bad out but still quite hot.

Holy tabarnak, ok, so I just checked the weather network and it's suppose to be 36 on wednesday. THIRTHY FREAKING SIX! Ya, that's definitely an indoor day. lol. That has got to be a record, if it actually hits that. Just realized they changed their site, it used to show the record temps on the side but it seems they got rid of that.

Bah, bunch of wussies, I live in New Orleans. Come down here for a spell in the summer, gotta chew your air before you breathe it.
Fuck that. When (smart)people realized there was something better than an equatorial hellhole, they got the fuck out of dodge. They've dominated science and engineering ever since. The equatorial places make news stories for the rest of us to read after a day of being exceptional.

Yep. I've still yet to experience anything worse than the 109F/54% humidity day (according to my little digital thermometer). It was brutal. I will say that it does get just about as bad here in St. Louis as it does down there, just for nowhere near as long.

But boy do you yanks suck ass at food.

I'll give you that. There's some gems up here, but as a whole "thing", the south's got it. That applies worldwide.

I'm technically a southerner being in MD, but I prefer mid Atlantic as a descriptor. Not quite north, not quite south, though you can find solid examples of each depending on where you go.

Well the heat warning just came on here too.

May God bless our air conditioners and guide the freon through the coils of knowledge and evil.

Bah, you are close enough. All of the inter-breeding yall been doing with the yanks over the years and you probably have more yank in you than not.

And yeah, lots of places have gems. I have traveled up north and still can't find a decent cheesesteak that compares here in NOLA but other than a few very specific items I've never been anywhere that had good food like us. I've been to places that had crawfish on the menu, ordered it with a glint in my eye and hope in my heart and was utterly disgusted at what they served me. I talked to the chefs a few times, told them where I was from and that I know what crawfish should taste like and this ain't it. Asked them what they boiled it in, they said water (duh), I said let me make this simple could you see the bottom of the pot, they said of course just some salt and pepper what else should be used. One guy was really proud of himself because he added a few dashes of cayenne pepper. Epic facepalm.

Then again maybe I should cut them some slack, probably the same thing yall would think if you came down here and got a cheesesteak. The difference is that you'd never order a cheesesteak down here because there is sooooo much good food to choose from it wouldn't even cross your mind.

Lows in the high teens and low twenties. lol.

You guys are so cute up there 😛

That's at night. It will get much hotter during the day. Essentially what they're saying is because it will still stay warm at night there won't be much way to recover if you don't have A/C. Ex: opening windows.

It normally goes down to low double digits to high single digits at night here so if you don't have A/C you just open windows at night.
