Got this from TechBargains

Dell Home Software & Peripherals has the very fast Western Digital 120GB 8MB Cache Special Edition drive for $185 - auto 20% off = $148, $5 shipping. No tax in most states.

Direct Link to WD120JB

These babies are HOT, and will go fast! I own one, and give it two thumbs up!

Enjoy!

Thank god they were backordered because that mofo is going back. also he told me the price was 260 or something similar on the phone but online its different...So get it while its hot!!

good lord, these things get cheaper by the day. Only 3 or so months ago I got my 2x80 gig WD's from outpost @ $150/each, and that was a good deal.

DOH! Just ordered the 80 GIG Version from Newegg yesterday ... :(

Maybe I cancel though.... Is this OEM or Retail and do you have to have a Dell to get the deal?

What's with the 3 weeks shipping thing someone mentioned on the other thread?

OEM. It dosn't come with WD's 3 year warrenty. It only comes with dell's 1 year warrenty.

BTW, some people on ebay will sell OEM drives and claim it has a 3 year warrenty. WD usually dosn't issue 3 year warrenties on OEM drives. I know because I got on the deal last time from dell and I checked the serial number on WD's site and there is no warrenty on it.

Don't wait to jump on this deal... last time most drives got delayed over a week. If you noticed, it says on the dell site that it will ship in 1-2 weeks. It might be a little into July before you get your hands on this drive if you choose ground shipping.

Don't see how it would be since the 120 JB drive at Comp USA is going for $299, and the $50 GC would only bring it down to about $249, besides the fact that many of us will have to pay for tax.

With dell I get 2 drives for $304 with shipping included and no tax.

Repost or not this deal is smoking!

This is the deal I've been waiting for since Dell had this drive for less than $130

If it from dell upgrades with 20% off they have only 30 days warranty. People got burned on that last time.
WD report that Dell bought it without warranty at all. read on FW.

Thanks for the warning. I just read it @fw. I'll burn test the drive in the first week. I also went to WD support forum to check for users' complaints on the drive (use the search tab on top); but I couldn't seem to find any meaningful complaint.

30 days warranty, Knock on wood!
