<< IC, my brother uses this pc. It currently has a 1st gen geforce2 MX. I just want to get a vid card that uses the maximum potential of the pc, which isn't much. So I'm debating whether to get him a geforce2 Ti or this GTS-V. From your advice, I'll opt for the GTS-V. >>
I was assuming the existing vid card was older than that... Depending on the game, you may not see a huge difference, especially if that GF2MX is pretty overclockable. I'm not entirely certain about that, as I've never had a 'MX card and I haven't time to "play" with my new GF2-GTS-V, but my initial impression is that in some circumstances, it may not be much better than an old Viper TNT2 I have o'c in a 1GHz box. You might want to scour the 'net for some older benchmarks, it might be most cost effective to upgrade the CPU to some thing like a Celery 1Ghz or lesser Celery o'c to 1+Ghz instead, or in addition to the new vid card.
