I checked all the BB's in the Milwaukee area today. None have any UT2k4SE in stock. The sales dork said check back tomorrow. I saw the computer and each store had 20 on order.

Went to Best Buy after work yesterday and picked up the special edition. It was marked 39.99 on the box, but when i brought it to the register it rang up $29.99! I had preordered it but since it was in stock at my store and they hadn't shipped my order I canceled and bought a copy. Also inside the box was a $10 rebate form if you own UT2003. You have to mail them the form and the cover of the manual for 2003(no copies unfortunately). So assuming they make good on the rebate, the SE version will have cost me $19.99. That is insane for a just released game.

Yah, I know what you mean. It requires a little self sacrafice, especially in the opening where the first and even the second person to the Manta need to control the impulse to fly it and just hop on as a passenger and wait. I've seen a manta with 4 people, with one on each wing, one on the top and the last person took control. Naturally, with that kind of team they won!
I used to wonder why individuals would grab the manta, fly to the first node and start it, leave it to go to the 2nd node before the first was anywhere near completion. Sometimes leaving it before anyone else even gets there; then they have to wait at node 2, and hope, that someone else goes to node 1 to finish the job instead of loading up a hellbender and taking off to the center node. Why? Cause if you start a node you get the 5 points even if you don't finish it but other teammates do. Its all about the points to some players.
Yes, my BB in PA (King of Prussia Mall) had over 10 of the DVD SE boxes on the shelf yesterday. $29.99 out the door, with $39.99 sticker on it. Cancelled my BB.COM pre-order which was supposed to ship tomorrow.
The new Onslaught maps are insanely fun, so are the new vehicles. This game at this price is just crazy.

I always use a ggcard,
all i do is take it to the register along with the game,
1st purchase=they ring up the ggcard for $xx
then say you want to use the card and the coupon on the back on this game,
2nd purchase=use ggcard+coupon on game, pay off any extra $ due with cash
Easy as pie. 1/1000 times you'll get a clueless cashier that won't do it, in that case just take it to customer service when you're done.

I just got back from BB and the shipment of UT2k4 DVD:SE's have JUST arrived!! So if you're waiting until Thursday morning or even Friday, I suggest you check out your local BB now!! =D

Then when you're ready to checkout, ask the cashier to ring up the game and see how much it costs WITH tax.

after picking up my SE at eb in east NC, the dvd tin is more like a tin cover. I was looking forward to a tin case like quake3. anyways, installing on 1 dvd was a snap, better than going through 6 cds. The game is awesome, and i think the textures are higher than the demo game. the sound effects are enhanced too, from what i could tell. Since they released the server version online on monday, there are hundred of servers to choose from Onslaught is my fav!

I've used the gamers giftcard at least 5-6 times, and it's not as hard as you made it out to be unclebud. I think your store is the only YMMV one as everyone else reports being able to just bring both to the cashier and they usually do everything right there.

SO....It seems a MAJORITY of the BB's HAVE UT2K4 in stock TODAY!! the 17th.....so CALL your local BB and ask.....I got my copy of SE..

Sorry for my stupidity, but I need to get this straight. When you go to the register, you DON'T pay for it, you just tell them how much money to put on the card? So I guess $5 is the max you can put on it. I just find it strange that they have these $5 off coupons laying around and you have to go to the cash register before you use it.

I went to BB Norwalk CT before work and the dork said they will have it next week, so I went to Orange BB after work(close to New Haven) and they have 20 copies on shelves for 29.99 +1.80 CT tax=31. Go and get'm.... this is the regular copy (6 CDs) but I tell you the first Cd got the Key, it was a pain to pulled out from the case, wacth out!!!
