Hmm, so supposing hypothetically someone were to decide to buy a couple of these at some point...and supposing again that there's only a 10 cent difference between Priority Mail and UPS - which would you guys choose? I tend to lean towards Priority Mail since I don't think I've ever had a package smashed by the mailman. It's also usually 2-3 day shipping right?

Oh and does anyone know the exact stock timings and voltages these require? Do they require a set of JEDEC sticks to set the BIOS up before you can use them?

This exact part number is not shown on the manufacturer web site!

There is a specification on SuperTalent's web site, it's in the "overclocking memory"
section vs the "desktop memory" section (which confused me at first, as I also expected
to see it in the latter section).

T800UB2GC5:
http://www.supertalent.com/products/overclock.php
http://www.supertalent.com/dat...ts/T800UB2GC5_spec.pdf

Actually as I noted in a previous post of mine, the model numbers don't totally
match eWiz's site (T8) vs (T800) but I'm pretty sure it's the same RAM, and given that
a previous poster pointed out that eWiz IS on SuperTalent's authorized distributor list
on STT's web site, and that in fact, the companies may be related, I'm not concerned with
the small nomenclature difference.

So according to that PDF file the T800UB2GC5's run 5-5-5-15 @ 2.1V DDR2-800.

You're replacing your DDR with DDR2? Is this one of those ASRock boards that can take either type?

Yes exactly

Figured it would help with another upgrade in future even with DDR3 on the horizon

(Still on a 6800Ultra AGP :<)

Ah I see. So you have two of each type of slot then, I'm guessing, and simply adding two more DDR sticks isn't an option. Probably more expensive to add 2GB of DDR these days too :p.

Only two slots on the motherboard so I am limited to only 2GB(2GB is least amount of memory I want these days) modules of either kind

I paid around $50 for a stick of 1GB DDR last month (building another system) so yes just a tad more expensive investing in much older tech :p

My one and only question on this deal: Will this RAM run stable at 1.8v? Most OEM boards will not let you touch the voltage so it limits you pretty quick on after market modules. Or in my case a Intel board which will not let you adjust voltages.

Anyone know?

I put four of these in a Dell Precision 390 with no problems.

put 2 sticks in my ecs p4m800pro-m2. It runs fine but bios only shows it as 2 gig. Even worse 1 chip shows as only 1 gig. I thought this mb could handle 4 gig from what I remembered but looking around it seems to max at 2 gb. The worst part is it seems to only support 1 gig per slot. No biggie as I was looking to get a better mb soon. In the meantime anyone have any workarounds I could try? The new bios didn't help.

There was a note in one of the previous ST DDR2 threads, indicating tha Via-chipset mobos only see these DIMMs as half of their size. Sorry.

I've sent an email request asking Super Talent what the exact specs for this memory are since it isn't listed directly on their site. They do have a T8UB1GC5 listed, and the only difference between that one and this one is the "1G" or "2G" which would indicate to me that they are the same product line, with 1G or 2G referring to capacity.

According to Super Talent web site:

" What Voltage is Super Talent memory tested at?

All Super Talent Desktop, Laptop, and Server memory is tested at JEDEC standard voltage - 1.8V for DDR2 and 2.5V for DDR. Super Talent Overclocking memory is often tested at higher voltages in order to reach higher levels of performance. Test voltage for our Overclocking products is stated in our detailed spec sheets for each product. We do not recommend using voltages above our specified test voltage."

What would happen if I used 2 of these 2GB sticks in a 32 bit Windows XP machine? I always hear that 32 bit can only handle ~3.6 GB. So would it cause glitches and crashes? Would I lose the minor boost that dual channel provides?

You won't get all 4gb, but no problems should occur otherwise.

Right. The most I have seen register is 3.5GB, and most of the time it is roughly 3.2GB.

I was thinking it was all 2gig memory sticks. Do you think its just this memory?

normadh, some motherboards do not support over 2GB of memory

If it is a Via chipset than I am betting that is your problem since I just realized my Asrock will not support over 2gb either :(

EDIT: yes that is the case. From the ECS website:

2 x 240-pin DDR DIMM socket support up to 2 GB
Support DDR2 533 DDR2 SDRAM

I usually go with USPS. I live in a condo complex with a locked front door. The mailman has a key, but with other couriers there's no guarantee he'll get in to deliver the box.

Fry's frustrates me a little bit because they only ship DHL. Since I'm never home at 1-2 PM when the package arrives, I always have to go pick it up at the DHL office.
