I had a Siemens wireless router back when there was a hot deal where I got it for like $20 after MiR. It worked fine for about week, then everything started going haywire. I checked dslreports and here and a lot of other people who bought it were having the same problems. There were no obvious fixes, so I ebay'd the router and got a D-Link DL-614+, which is infinitely nicer, and I have had no problems with at all. Also tried a Netgear in the interim, and it was okay, but didn't have very good wireless range, and I had to reboot it about once a week, likely due to problems with Comcast more than the router itself.

Ive had this now for a couple of weeks havent come across any of the problems people keep mentioning. in fact it works great. I updated the firmware just to be safe. and also efficient networks the manufacturer even offers a free extension to 2 years warranty when you register it online.

I've been using this router for a few months. It's okay, but I swear that it introduces a 1 to 2 second delay when downloading web pages. I can't verify that, but I know that when I bypassed it, my web surfing sped up immediately. It doesn't affect overall throughput, however. I'm still able to max out my DSL connection.

yes, it introduces a lot of lag to online gaming. i had ping of like 500-600 ms, with it. when i plugged my computer directly into the modem it went down to around 100

That's odd. I'm seeing average pings between 40 and 60 in Enemy Territory, and I haven't seen but a few servers with ping times higher than 400ms. And the ping times only went up an average of 20-30ms on my best friend's cable service when I set up a 2614 there.
