on diamondmm.com website.
they're selling the Rio500 for $179.95

but on the website, they have a LOT of new models both already and and coming out. Makes you wanna think twice.

Did not get email from them yet, but on the link, it states 10 CD's from HP and on the invoice it listed it separately, everything is OK, I believe.

i guess i will just walk to CompUSA tomorrow to check the box out.
i am becoming more and more fragile after so many "accidents"...🙁

Finally got email confirmation:

Hello Michael Wong,

Thank you for your purchase from hpshopping.com.

Your order number XXXXXXXXX includes:

Item Description Part Number Qty Price
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Digital BI1681_C9620A 1 193.00

HP CD-R 650MB Recordable Media, BI1682_C4437E 1 6.00

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tax: 13.93

Not too worried, looks fine to me.

Whats the SKU at compusa for the combo? or do you take the two items up to the register and they ring at $199?

it lists cdr's because if you read the item description :

<< Gift box contains the 9150i Internal CD-RW, Diamond Rio MP3 500 (Rio may come in grey, teal or purple cases), HP Music Jukebox Software, 2 months unlimited downloads from Emusic.com and a 10 pack of cd media >>

okidoke... just put my order in. my confirmation says the same thing as virtuamike's, so if we're all good to go, it should be alright.

do you guys know if they send all three products in retail boxes? so one box for the burner, one for the rio, and one for the cdrs? i'm not as worried about the cdrs, but the burner and the rio (i hope) should be retail boxed...

is there a rebate for the hp burner available right now? i found one that expired a while ago, but nothing recent. anyone have any input?

the rebate for the rio should be good tho - if we buy now, it's within the right dates, and the limit is one per household/address... that should bring the total down to 150, i think...

Thanks!!

I don't come to hot deals much because of the $$$ I'd spend. But I have been looking for a decent MP3 player to use while biking and this is a good deal!!

One ordered and confirmed!!

Rob

Any one know how much memory the rio comes with? I need to build a computer for my brother and the burner would come in handy... I'll keep the rio. 🙂

rio 500 only comes with 64 and memory cards...
the new models has memory expansion that IS NOT EVEN BEENING MANUFACTURE... so i have a rio 600 thats 32mb and non expandable for maybe another year... those idiots at sonic blue says "i dunno"

OH MAN!!!
I can't use a canadian creditcard... called customer service and they still said it can't be done!!! how ghetto... cuz I usually use Canadian CC, and ship to NY and it works for all the companies I've bought from once I call their customer service line. YUCK!

A few people mentioned they've done this deal before and it's old. Can anyone verify if the boxes are retail or what?

Ok, It looks as if some of us are going to get screwed. I orderd this combo about an hour ago and the web site said IN STOCK. I received an e-mail confirmation of my order and then 10 minutes later, anothere-mail telling me that my order could not be processed and to call the 800 number. I call and the woman tells me that they are out of stock and that they have no idea when or if they are getting more. She gloats to me that it was such a hot deal that SHE GOT ONE HERSELF! Imagine. I think all the employees there picked them up for them selves which is not right or fair. Did anyone else receive this bull$hit e-mail?....It's just not fair

Not fair? How is it any more "fair" than when someone walks into a store and clears the shelf of an item?

The employees paid for them, they have ever right to do so. A customer is a customer, it all looks the same on the balance sheet.

Did anybody find out if CompUSA has this offer too? And if so what's the sku?

The memory in these is 64 mb and you can expand it another 64 mb with smartmedia. You can also upgrade the firmware which boosts the volume. I believe they have or will have an upgrade that will allow you to use the Microsoft ext. (mwi, i think), which condenses it more than mp3.
