I bought that 8X drive as early as this thread only had 3 posts.

Received the drive yesterday. The drive is very nice, and surprisingly, Iomega includes a pre-printed return label by Fedex in package, which is very impressive.

So, stop blaming Iomega. if you don't get it, it's your problem of going to bed too early.

Got my one (1) 12x yesterday. Everything looks nice and came with all cables (Sound, ATA) and mounting screws.

There are already a bunch of units there. 3 or 4 people account for 90% of the units on auction. One guy has 40 8x units on a single dutch auction. Go write some nasty e-mails to them

I wish Atech would ban this user. Its users like him who screw everyone and soon nobody will post hot deals simply cos they know only a few are gonna get this. This sort of behavious kills the spirit of the hot deals forums. I hope there is a crash in prices on ebay and u all lose money. I needed just 1 and I got mine cancelled too.

I could understand Iomega not having a complete count of what is in their inventory, but I ordered one right at the start of this post, and then I later told my friend about the deal in passing. She ordered one hours later, and since then I've received a cancellation notice, but hers will be here Monday. How can Iomega be so messed up that they don't understand that you should serve out the quantity you have in the order the orders were placed?

I ordered my 12x after many people said that they were OOS.

I got an order confirmation, a shipping confirmation, and an order cancellation.

It came today, and they reversed the charge on my credit card. :|:Q

Does anybodys drive not work? im getting a device failed to start (error code10) in safe mode and it keeps on restarting when i go in2 win 2k sp1. DAmmit! Please help!!

btw.. anyone updated the firmware on the 12x ones? to the sanyo ones??

I ordered early and got my drive in on Friday.
I didn't use any software that comes with the drive since I like Nero.
The drive looks good and works fine.

Nero reports that it has only 1800kb cache and with burn proof and overburn support.
The Sanyo firmware adds support for 90 minutes CDR.
I won't upgrade the firmware unless I have the need for to use 90 minutes CDR.

Anyone using the 12x10x32 drive w/Nero...what Firmware no. shows up? Does it say Iomega? or Plextor? or Sanyo?

On a side note...I bought mine from Fry's when they were discontinuing these drives and were offering $50 rebate. Iomega ended up sending me $30 rebates. I don't know if they were tryin' to scam or what, but I called up and they were gonna send out the difference they owed me.
