This is my first contribution to this forum and hopefully it will be a good one. Emailed to me from 3com today was a special to receive a free! 802.11b x-jack pcmcia card, the same one they had for $79. If you don't qualify for the free one, they'll sell it to you for $79. Since the $79 special is gone now, this is a great way to get it for $79 if you can't get it free.

You fill out the form, they tell you if you qualify for a free one, otherwise they give you a link to buy it for $79!

Here's the link:

--------------
***Update from 2-22-02***
If the link doesn't come up immediately and it forwards you to 3com's site, try it again, you WILL get to the promo after a few tries, at least for right now.

Some people have reported problems loading the site in IE. If you have a problem try it in another browser, Opera or Netscape or any others you may have. Seems like it works fine on some machines and not others. Changing web browser fixes it in mostly ALL cases. Also others have said that copying and pasting will make the link work if other browsers won't when you click on the link.
--------------
***Update from 3-1-02***
All still works fine here, just bringing back to the top and seeing if anyone heard anything yet.

--------------
***Update from 3-20-02***
Everyone who signed up from what I hear is that they get an email from 3com, stating that only the person who recieved the original email is eligible to get it for free. No wonder why, but I just recieved the same email. I replied because I did recieve the original :(. Sorry guys, its a shame this didn't work out.

I made the first page on a HOT deal for once. Amazing.

I'd love to have this stocked if my university set up a wireless LAN in the commons.

Bah, had to change the settings 3 times to get it to take. I wonder if that's going to hamper my chances.

I work for a lage copration.

However we are a regional outffit. The company is at least 5000+ people so I put that. But regionally we are only about 20 people. (Oversea regional outfit.) I am the guy reponsible in recommanding and setting up regional IT infrastructure. While my boss just signs off on whatever IT plan I draw up. (Off coursel, there must be a need for the IT equipment orginally.)

Anyway would I get away in walking away with a 3COM Wireless LAN? I promise from now on or company would only buy 3COM junk. J/K ahahhahaha

anway I am expect to recieve a call.

I do R&D for a living. When they call tell them you are evaluating wireless cards for your organization. Tell them you have other manufacture's cards including 3Com's AirConnect, but that you were disappointed with the attached antenna. It always got in the way, so that card is not going to be recommended. They should be more than happy to send you the X-jack card.
