Thought it was ok. But, as I heard someone say, it's starting treat it's own myth as mythology.
1.)Bad, long rave scene (I hate to think that the last members of our race are all 20 somethings hopped up on X).
2.)Too much 9th grade stoner pseudo-philosophy (Not what you do but why you do...pass the Cheetos)
3.)Too much flying (next thing you know, Neo is flying around Manhattan with Margot Kidder).
4.)Way too many slow-mo's, way too much HIGH POWERED MUSIC!!!! during fight scenes(eg. fight scene with the Oracle's guard). If you want to be groundbreaking, step away from the phenomenon you created and reinvent instead of rehash.
I've heard people say how others can't keep up with the movie and that, by mastering the mysteries of this movie that somehow, they are enlightened and can truly appreciate the film. I understood everything. I own both the falling code and the Agent Smith and the Twins theaterical posters. I'm a big fan. But while the story's interesting and a neat concept, it's just poorly told. It's muddied and uses action scenes to illicit emotional response rather than story and character development.
Sorry, just didn't feel the connection like in the first. And the CGI, while groundbreaking at times (the Agent(s) Smith scene is great), falls into the same pratfalls as many other movies: there's way too much, and when it doesn't work, it's a distraction.
