heres what i predict is gonna happen.... circuit city have the 1200BBRTL tomorrow for 150 after rebate... best buy will do a market reaction to it and lower there price to 149.97.. then the 150 dollar rebate will start kicking out like the above poster said = free 120 gig hard drive... who wants to bet this will happen??

Princeman,

I hope that you meant scanners have been free at staples a dozen+ times. To me a scanner is an unnecessary waste of space, but to many others it maybe a must in their daily lives. Though so far, many ppl have shared my inability to scan, thus making your statement incorrect.

Now back to the deal. If CC does in fact lower their price, BB will of course have a market reaction, or you could always PM. Still noone wants that rebate, guess I can throw it away.

Bubbadu if that is correct then I'm waking up early tomorrow. Is the 150 advertised at Circut City? I went to Circuit City's web site
and they have nothing on the HD, maybe in Sundays paper.

Correct me if I am wrong, I just checked Circuit City's website, it $299.00.

Here's the link:

Western Digital 120GB HD

EDITED: Not sure why the link didn't work, maybe it's the session id problem.

So where's the one that's on sale for $159??? Is it after MIR?

dont know what i would do with so much space, all my stuff on cdrs. I think they are better investment plus you can use it on any of your computer and like a middleman they're most reliable.

Does Best Buy pricematch after rebate?? Because if you check Circuit City's website today it is $150 after
rebate

You will have to get a really dumb Best Buy manager to do the PM. They are the same price, both before the MIR, and after the MIR!

No company would do a PM after MIR. It doesn't matter anyways, the one at BB is $299 minus $150 MIR. It's the same price. I checked CC's ad today at work and it's the same deal.

When I had stated that it could reflect $150 minus $150 MIR (bubbadu stated it was his prediction) it was that $150 would be a market reaction to CC's if they had priced it that low. But it was not likely...

I've done this with compusa.

it's because of Best Buy's policy

at least when CompUSA has a big rebate, Best Buy will automatically match their price (i.e. you dont have to do anything, its already in the computer). so what do you do, you go to CompUSA and have them pricematch Best Buy's price. They call up Best Buy, and find out the price, and sell it to you for that price.

I got the WD 120GB (only 2mb buffer though) last August for $100 with rebate because of this (it was $300, there was a $100 comp usa rebate, so best buy was selling it for $200, so comp usa sold it to me for that price, and i got the $100 rebate a couple of months later)

everyone should pay attention to there best buy tomorrow.. and see if they pull that market reaction.. to 149.97.. i think there shelf tags are updated daily and *Maybe* they will lower the price tomorrow because they are idiots.. lol.. because i went backed and looked at the rio 600 thread and feburay 10th was a sunday... febuary 11th was when bb lowered there price to 49.97.. which was on monday... might as well hope.....

Thing is, Circut city has the drive advertised as 299.99, and in a little bubble
it has $150 in rebates available. So I highly doubt anything will come of it.

True, true bubbadu. I remember that as well. Very perceptive of you. 🙂

Good idea to @ least check you may very well be right on the money so to speak!

I agree. This is nothing but a bunch of B.S.:|

In order to stop a flood of incoming flames, you better offer up some proof and detailed instructions on how to attain this incredible price. And until someone else can also attain the same results you got, I'm considering you a LIAR.

OK, so this Wazing2 isn't responding to posts and PMs, what a shame. Anyhoo, thanks to elfnumber1, I put the two print-out rebate forms from BB, $100 and $150, up for whoever wants it HERE. I guess most people had no problem getting the rebate form printed out in store except me. 🙁

Here's what I ended up doing -- buying the drive (WD 120GB 7200 rpm retail) from BB with a 10% off coupon (I got one that's valid from 5/3-5/16, and another one for 5/17-5/19, they must really like me😉). So it's $299.99 - $30 (10%) - $150 (rebate) = $120 + tax before rebate. Not a super-hot deal compared to those AmEx Blue PM deals, but for ~$1/GB I can't really complaint too much. 🙂
