in fact best buy does have a $100 MIR on this hard drive. but too bad they don't have any in stock because all those darned best buy employees have bought them out. in fact a little birdie told me that all the ones they had in store when it was before the $100 MIR, only 2 were bought by customers, all the others were employee purchases. and if you did buy it when it was 160 bucks, go get them to return and purchase so you can get the $100 MIR.

BB does not have a $100 MIR that is currently valid unless it is one of these employee only deals. Check their website and prove a link if you can. I purchased one today after PMing to CompUSA and no rebate printed out at the register. The store manager confirmed no active BB/WD program for the WD12000BBRTL drive.

in fact best buy DOES have this rebate out. in fact i was just in store today and printed it out. the only problem is, that i doubt there are any of these drives left. too bad you can't get a raincheck on them either because they aren't advertised in the ad.

ps: i'll see what i can do to get your a scan of that rebate, but it's more likely that i could mail it to you. i'll just have to go back in store and print it out.

pss: if it didn't print out you should have b*tched and yelled! anyhow, it's on the shelf tag, go back and tell them to price it down, if you were in store i work at i'd have asked the sup to price down to reflect what's advertised. that is policy as well or customer satisfaction.

What is the dept number on the rebate form so I can get it printed locally and why is it not on the BB website? The only rebate form that we could local at my local BB expired on 4/26.

Wazing2: Could you scan your receipt for the rest of us? I live in Houston and I could probably just pay a visit to that BB and get this drive if I had a copy of the receipt. I just doubt my sweet-talking ability to convince them to let me have this drive for a final price of $59 without one.
 
quick OT question: Who handles best buy rebates? I never got my $50 rebate on the diamond rio600 from janurary. I want that $50 !

Umm, no, that would be a Manufacturer rebate. Best Buy rebates go to Maine, just like CompUSA's go to AZ, Circuit City's to MN now, etc etc....
 
For those who are waiting for BB to mail out the 50 dollar rebate. CALL THEM UP. Those forking b|tches are not gonna send you the rebate until you call up and question them about it.
 
OK here's the deal. I finally got a print out of the rebate for $100 for customers that purchased between 05/05/2002 and 05/11/2002.

Wish I could get this scanned, but I don't have one, I could mail it someone that has a scanner and would scan and post for everyone else. The postmark date is: 06/11/2002 so there's still some time left. If anyone fits that description, please PM me. Otherwise this will go into the trash can.

Also, $150 MIR on the same model: WD12000BBRTL between dates 05/12/2002 and 05/18/2002. I have this one printed out as well. LMK if anyone wants this one.

edit: BTW, the drive is now $299 minus the $150 MIR that's $150 for a 120gb HDD, I think some ppl were considering that a good deal a few weeks ago. Though I don't know...
 
Elf#1: You may be the only person on the planet that doesn't have a scanner! They have been free after rebate a dozen times at Staples!! Amazing. Think they are on again by the way....
