This only pertains to few people but:
If you bought your 9800NP Built By ATi 128MB at Microcenter during Black Friday or within 2 days after that, you can get HL2 for free. There's a Microcenter specific coupon that Microcenter sent to me. My ATi box didn't indicate HL2 included, but the Microcenter ad said it would be included, and the coupon is what does it.
If you want more details look at my post history, I posted the info in another thread that's Microcenter specific.

I realize this is a little out of date now but I thought I'd update all those who are still waiting for news on getting HL2 after purchasing 9800Pro from BB. I finally heard back from a BB manager that contacted corporate 6 times and never heard back. They're just going to give me $50 off the card since there isn't any answer in sight. So, if you can get your BB to do the same thing you're in good shape. Final cost of the card $299-10%(coupon)-$50 = 219.99. Hope this helps.

Guys - here's a curiosity. Since HL2 is late, we now get all the entire Half Life and all the little patches, upgrade packs, and so forth.

COOL.

But ... it's limited time. If I reinstall XP in , say, 9/2004, will I just lose this nice HL pack forever? How do you grab something like this off your hard drive to reinstall? Probably not possible. I emailed Valve and got no response (surprise.)

I just went here and called the number listed (1-866-223-4955) and told them that I had purchased an All-In-Wonder 9800 Pro in December and that I had printed out a copy of their website before they changed which cards were eligible. They asked where the card was purchased from and I told them it was Newegg and that it didn't come with a HL2 coupon.

The lady I talked to said that the RADEON 9800, RADEON 9800 PRO, RADEON 9600 PRO, ALL-IN-WONDER 9800 PRO ARE STILL ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE HALF-LIFE 2 CD-ROMS AS THEY WERE THE CARDS ORIGINALLY POSTED ON THE ATI WEBSITE!

She said to print off the webform, include a copy of the original offer showing the 9800, 9800 Pro, 9600 Pro and AIW 9800 Pro (see Maddscientist's post on page 1), a copy of the sales receipt and the UPC. She also said to make a hand written note on the side of the webform explaining why there is no HL2 coupon and that you had called ATI who verified your eligibility to receive Half-Life 2.

I'd imagine this will also work with the Valve Premiere Pack CD-Roms (all previous Half-Life games) webform.

Well I bought the ATI 9800 PRO from Best Buy for 299.00 Minus $50.00 Rebate, plus Half-Life 2 CD Key.

When I bought the item at the store, the clerk printed out the two rebate forms for me to fill out.

I sent them out the next day (10/30/2003)

Since it has been over 8 weeks, I decided to call them at 1-866-223-4955 on Dec 23rd.
The lady told me that the system were down until the new year.
I called about 10 minutes ago and said I wanted to know the status of my rebate, A different lady this time told me I have to wait 8 weeks, I then said I sent the rebate info to you on 10/30/2003. She quickly said "Sorry sir, our system is down right now, can you call back in a few days?"

Anybody else have this problem? My card/purchase is still eligible for the HL 2 Key right?

I went through the same turmoil everyone else has trying to talk with ATI. I went a different route and made friends with the manager of my local circuit city and he hooked it up after i explained that i had bought an ATI Radeon 9800 pro and i was expecting the coupon. Moral of the story, go straight to the manager of the store you bought it from. They should be aware of the situation and have the means of helping you. So with this coupon we get half life 1 and 2 free now??? When is half life 2 comin out???
