$10 shipping if you want the CDs. =) Granted, if you've got broadband then you can just download it over STEAM.

An Activation key is included behind the scratch box distributed on the coupon provided by ATI to "activate" your full Half-Life® 2 game.

The thing is guys, the key for activation is inside the video card box. If you bought the card that was on the shelf before Oct. 1, it will not have this card with the key inside. Even if you bought it after Oct. 1, the card might still not inside, so how are you going to play without the key?

The man raises a valid point. The "fulfillment request" on the linked page seems to only be good for the game CD alone. Is there any way to discern when a card was packaged just by looking at the box?

Read it again :)

The coupon is provided by ATI, and on that coupon is a scratch box... and when you scratch that off you get the code. They send you the coupon after you send in the UPC and receipt and Form... they know that you dont have the coupon in the box, only a few newest ones do.

I keep re-reading the page and here's where I get hung up:

"Once you have the coupon you have two ways to get your complimentary copy of VALVE's full version game Half-Life® 2..."

The only mail-in request that I see is for the game CD, and according to the above ATI quote you need to already have the coupon prior to sending off for the CD.

Edit: I'm more confused than ever. They say they'll provide the coupon by mail but all I see are CD request forms.

Sweet deal, thanks for the information. Is the Newegg deal the best price on the 9800 NonPro right now?
Enjoy the day

Dude,
the info that MaddScientist posted did not the smaller letter under the end of this last paragraph.
© 2003, ATI Technologies Inc. All rights reserved. ATI is a registered trademark of ATI Technologies Inc. Image © 2003 Valve Corporation. All rights reserved. Valve, the Lambda logo, Half Life and the Half Life logo are trademarks or registered trademarks of Valve Corporation. If you would like to test your newly purchased "Graphics by ATI" card and are not sure if you will keep it, please DO NOT scratch the Half Life 2 activation key on the Half Life 2 coupon. If the key is revealed, you CANNOT return or exchange the product.

So this means that if you buy the card, the coupon with the key should be inside and should you scratch the coupon off, you cannot return it. So I would imagine that if you buy a card with this offer, the promotional sticker would be right outside the box for good advertisement. Those older boxes might not have it. I guess ATI will have to do it some other ways if the older boxes does not have the coupons.

If you read the paragraphs carefully, it's a bit unclear but word by word would suggest that the coupon with key is inside the box.

The linked page is different from what Maddscientist posted. The requirements are now:

# Copy of the Half-Life® 2 Coupon showing your activation key code - exposed
# Original UPC (bar code) cut from the ATI or Partner product package
# Copy of sales receipt with the qualifying ATI or ATI partner 3D graphics board purchase circled.

So you need to buy a card with the coupon included?

Ya this hot deal is looking colder and colder the bastards just added that like 15 min after I posted that. Seems like im taking my card back since It hasnt been 30 days yet to CC just to get a card that has this coupon in it......They should have been much clearer than they where. And Im almosted tempted to call them on it but it is free after all and its not like they owe me a copy of HL2......Crappy eh?

beware of sites like Gameve.com! My roommate just recieved his order for a Powercolor AT 9600 Pro 256m retail, and what he got was an ALREADY OPEN box(quality seal ripped off), that had the Tomb Raider game and all the other goodies missing! (gameve apparently opens all their retail boxes and is reselling the tomb raider game for like 30 bucks!!!) Plus you can bet that they're holding onto the HL2 Activation codes until it comes out... then I'll bet they'll sell just the keys themselves!! And all of this was not mentioned when he bought it. VERY SHADY PRACTICE. All of these things were SUPPOSED to be in the Powercolor retail box, sealed and safe......... just.... ugh.
