Some of the reiews on newegg, say it has 16 pipes and memory clocked at 1100. This seems interesting.

Hmm with some people only getting a regular 6800 makes it kind of risky, but the picture certainly looks like an ultra with 2x4-pin, dual dvi, and 2 slots.

Card isn't quite hot enough for me to get one just for kicks hehe. But if I was looking for a new GPU, this is the one I'd take for sure.

I installed doom 3 last night and it ran like crap on my ti4200. I think I have to get this. :)

Does look pretty hot to me. I'd like to get one, but from what the most recent poster said, I'm a little weary of it...

I picked it up. Clearly marked ddr3 and everyone else has gotten ddr3. So if it's not, I'll just send it back.

I would check your settings or your setup then. I ran it on a 4400 and it ran like a dream.

I didn't mess with the doom 3 settings at all, just ran it on default. Also on an xp1700 too. :(

Read the fine print, can only be exchanged for the same item.

I"ll send it back until I get a ddr3 module as advertised. Getting ddr is getting ripped off because it's not what is advertised.

I agree. It is labeled "DDR3" quite clearly.

I'm extremely tempted to buy this card. One question though, how can you tell the difference between DDR and DDR3 memory on a card?? What can you read to measure the clock speeds of video cards (notice I'm using an FX 5200...never had to do that before because it probably doesn't matter :p)

Any clues??

just ordered mine.
I think they reviewer was just wrong. DDR would be no where near the speed the card is rated at.
Per Evga's website the card is supposed to be 1100mhz ... hard to find DDR1 memory running at that.

http://www.evga.com/products/pdf/N347.pdf

Hope this works out well for all.

its a steal if they are Ultra cores that couldnt cut it.. ill take it at stock GT speeds

The overclock utility that comes on the cd that comes with your card should have a registry file that allows you to change clock speeds. There are also other programs out there that you can run to display the clock speed of your ram.

I think the main difference between ddr and ddr3 is that ddr3 can run at much higher speeds. I've never seen ddr at 1100 mhz.

I called newegg and asked that (after reading the post by the guy saying he got GDDR1 mem and low clock speeds) if I recieved this slower product, could I have them replace it. They replied that they infact would, so long as it was different than what was posted on the website (clearly listed as GDDR3 memory). So I'll probably order this badboy tonight!!
